Choosing the right secondary school is an important step, and we warmly invite prospective learners and their families to discover what it means to be part of the Foxwell community.

Understanding AI Deepfakes & Keeping Young People Safe Online
“Deepfakes” are highly realistic images, videos, or audio that make it look like someone said or did something they never actually did.

This becomes image-based abuse when someone shares (or threatens to share) intimate content without a person’s consent — including AI-generated deepfakes.

Important to know:
Creating or sharing deepfakes — even as a joke — can be a criminal offence, including for young people under 18 in some parts of Australia. Laws are evolving to reflect the serious harm this causes.

How parents can help:
• Keep conversations open, calm, and judgement-free
• Talk about what’s real vs fake online
• Encourage kids to pause before sharing content
• Discuss consent in digital spaces
• Include AI in conversations about respect and relationships

Remind young people:
Creating or sharing sexual deepfakes without consent is harmful — and never okay.

Let’s work together to build safer, more respectful online communities.

Planning ahead for next year? The Foxwell State Secondary College Uniform Shop, operated by UMS, has released its Term 4 and Back to School opening hours.

Uniform fitting appointments open Sunday 1 November.

We encourage new students and our incoming Year 7 2027 families to book a fitting during Term 4 where possible, rather than waiting until the January rush. This gives families time to confirm sizing and place orders before Christmas.

The Uniform Shop will also have extended opening hours from 12 January 2027 to support families preparing for the start of the school year.

Our Year 12 students stepped onto the red carpet at Sea World last night for their much-anticipated 2026 Formal, and they looked absolutely incredible!

It was wonderful to see our seniors enjoying this special milestone together, celebrating the friendships and memories that have been such an important part of their Foxwell journey.
