We’re excited to be part of the Premier's Reading Challenge too, discovering the magic and benefits of reading together! 🌟📚

Regular shared reading with young children is so beneficial! It helps to build language skills (such as expanding vocabulary and grammatical awareness); sparks imagination; builds concentration; improves listening comprehension; builds empathy (when relating to the experiences of characters); broadens understanding of the world; and strengthens bonds between adult and child.

Today we brushed our teeth… 🪥🦷

And learnt a little more about how to keep our smiles healthy.

We welcomed the dental team from Gold Coast Health to Wattle Montessori, giving our Daisies and Banksia children the opportunity to learn about oral health and take part in a dental check-up right here at the centre.

Our Daisies classroom is getting ready to welcome a new class member. But we're not talking about a child, or a teacher... Any guesses as to what it may be?

A few weeks ago, members of our team had the opportunity to attend the Montessori Australia Annual Conference in Brisbane.

It was a wonderful opportunity to step away from the everyday routine, connect with the wider Montessori community, hear from experienced speakers and educators, and bring fresh ideas and inspiration back to our classrooms 💛

We loved welcoming Border Studios to the centre this week for our annual centre photos!

The children did such a wonderful job, and it was lovely seeing all the unique smiles, and giggles throughout the day. 💛

A look inside Banksia’s Carer–Child Afternoon 🌿

It’s not every day you get the chance to step inside your child’s classroom and see their day through their eyes.

This week, our Banksia children invited their parents and caregivers in for a special afternoon, taking the lead as they showed them around the classroom and proudly presented some of their favourite Montessori activities.

We loved watching the children share their classroom with so much confidence, excitement and pride. 💛

☁️ Pyjama Day at Wattle Montessori! ☁️

Today our children and team traded their usual outfits for their cosiest PJs and joined in the fun of Pyjama Day! 🧸💤

We kicked off the morning with a PJ parade, with everyone proudly showing off their favourite pyjamas, before warming up with some delicious hot chocolates. ☕️

Families also brought along a gold coin donation to support the day. Thank you to everyone who joined in and helped make it such a fun and meaningful day for our Wattle community. 💛

It’s State of Origin today and we’re backing the QLD Maroons! 🏉

The excitement is high, the colours are out, and we’re ready to cheer on Queensland tonight.
