We’re thrilled to announce that our round of turtle name submissions is now complete! A big thank you goes out to our children, families, staff, and community—your imaginative ideas and input are truly valued.

Our team has carefully reviewed all your fantastic suggestions and created a shortlist of favourites. It wasn’t easy to choose, and we sincerely appreciate every name you shared with us. See our final selection in the photo!

🐢 Exciting news in the Daisies classroom — we've welcomed an adorable new addition: a Macleay River turtle hatchling! Our children were overjoyed to greet her as she settled in and explored her charming new habitat. Not only will she bring a sense of wonder and joy to our room, but she will also provide a fantastic opportunity for the children to experience the responsibility of caring for a pet and learn about the value of protecting wildlife.

Now comes the fun part: naming her! The Daisies children have already come up with some wonderful options, with 'Myrtle the Turtle' and 'Shelly' currently leading the way.

We invite you to join in! Please share your creative name ideas in the comments by the end of next week. We'll gather all suggestions and have our children and families cast their votes soon after.

Learning to skateboard takes balance, coordination, concentration—and plenty of courage!

Our 3–5-year-olds have been practising how to position their feet, steady their bodies and keep trying when it feels challenging. With each attempt, they’re building confidence, resilience and trust in their own capabilities.

Sometimes the best learning happens when children are given the freedom to take safe risks, challenge themselves and discover, “I can do it!” 🛹
