In the lead-up to the 2026 Round Square International Conference at Barker College in Sydney, TAS welcomed 42 international delegates to Cairns and Far North Queensland for an unforgettable pre-conference experience.

Our guests travelled from schools across South Africa, the USA, Denmark and Romania, coming together to experience the very best of our region and connect with the TAS community.
From a welcome dinner at Paper Crane to sailing and snorkelling on the Great Barrier Reef, white water rafting on the Tully River and a visit to Hartley’s Crocodile Adventures, our guests embraced every adventure.

The group also took on an Amazing Race through Cairns, explored Kuranda aboard the Scenic Railway and Skyrail, and wrapped up their time in FNQ with a farewell dinner at Pachamama.
It was a wonderful opportunity to share our region, build global connections and showcase the spirit of TAS. Safe travels to our new friends as they continue their Australian adventure!

The TAS community mourns the passing of Reverend Dr Francis Michael Digby Hoyal. Digby was a key member of the team that founded Trinity Anglican School back in the 80s and retained a keen interest in the school up until his passing. He and his wife Anne established the Nepali Family Project, a mission that they set up to look after orphans and children in need in Nepal.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Anne and the family at the passing of a significant member of our community.

From $20 to business! Our Year 9 students put their entrepreneurial skills into action at our inaugural $20 Boss Market Day. Throughout the term, students developed their business concepts, pitched their ideas, created products and learned valuable real-world skills in financial literacy, marketing, teamwork, leadership and sustainability.

The day was a fantastic celebration of their creativity, initiative and hard work, with live music from the school band adding to the market atmosphere. Proceeds from the market will be donated to the Far North Queensland Hospital Foundation. Well done to our Year 9 entrepreneurs!

On Saturday 12 September, TAS Goes M.A.D.D. brought music, art, dance and drama together for a vibrant celebration of student creativity and talent. The annual festival was a resounding success, with a fantastic turnout and an outstanding showcase of performances and artistic works. Congratulations to our TAS representatives who recently competed at the Australian National Cross-Country Championships in Ballarat.

Luke Swindale (Year 11), Alexis Wood (Year 10) and White Rock Primary teacher Ms Isabella Hamilton took on some challenging conditions, competing against the best cross-country athletes from across Australia.

A fantastic achievement, with Luke finishing 34th and Isabella 35th in their respective age divisions. We’re proud of the dedication, resilience and determination shown by all three.

On 3 September, TAS hosted the Far North Queensland Interschool Chess Finals, welcoming a record-breaking number of 500 students across nine divisions.

TAS teams achieved outstanding results, with TAS WRS Mohammad crowned Secondary Premier Division FNQ Champions and earning a place at the Queensland State Finals in Brisbane in October.

In the Primary Premier Division, TAS WRCP Vaughan finished runners-up, and TAS WRCP Wells placed third, securing two further state qualification places.

TAS teams also claimed division wins in Primary A, C, D and E, with strong results across both the White Rock and Kewarra Beach campuses.

Congratulations to all students who competed, particularly those making their chess competition debut. TAS will also send teams to the Queensland Girls State Finals.
