Here is a little glimpse into what we mean when we say our children take part in daily tasks. 🌱✨

From threading and watercolour painting to cooking, making playdough and watering our garden, these simple, meaningful experiences are woven into our everyday rhythm. 🌸

Through these moments, children develop a sense of purpose, independence and belonging. They learn through doing, exploring with their hands, nurturing their creativity and taking pride in their contributions. 🌿💚

These everyday tasks help build confidence, encourage curiosity and develop practical life skills that will stay with them as they grow. We believe in slowing down, allowing little hands to learn and giving children the time and space to truly experience the joy of being part of their world. 🌻🍃

Golden Wattles Children are so excited to be growing sunflowers and watching each little seed begin its journey.

As we care for our sunflowers, we’ve been discovering that they need many of the same things we do to grow strong and healthy sunshine, nourishment, water and care. 🌞🌱

We talked about how we receive our nourishment through the food we eat, while our sunflowers draw what they need from the rich earth and soil around their roots.

Through this simple experience, the children are beginning to notice the beautiful connection between ourselves and the natural world that all living things need care and nourishment to grow. 💛

We can’t wait to watch our little sunflowers stretch towards the sun! 🌻

The children had so much fun creating their very own spring soup, letting their imaginations lead the way. 🌿🧚‍♀️

With flowers, leaves, fairy dust, glitter and colourful water, our little chefs spent the morning scooping, pouring, stirring and mixing their magical creations. 🥄🍃✨

There was such delight in watching the colours swirl, the petals float and the ingredients come together in their own special way.

Through this simple, open ended play, the children explored their senses, strengthened their coordination and fine motor skills, and most importantly, had the freedom to imagine, create and enjoy the wonder of childhood. 🌸

Today we painted beautiful leaves and gently pressed them onto paper to reveal their delicate shapes and patterns. 🌿✨

Little hands at work, busy piecing together wooden blocks and creating something wonderful! 🪵✨

At first glance, you might see wooden buildings taking shape… but when you stop and listen to the little people behind the creations, suddenly you discover a zoo, a farm, a house, a shop or perhaps an entire town! 🦁🐄🏠

This is the magic of open ended play. The children are working together, sharing ideas, negotiating, problem solving and helping one another bring their imagined worlds to life.

There are plenty of giggles and moments of humour along the way, as their stories grow and change with every new piece of wood. 😂

Through these simple experiences, friendships are strengthened, confidence grows and imaginations have the freedom to wander wherever they choose.

Our centre is fortunate to be surrounded by abundant wildlife, from the kangaroos who visit behind our centre, to the cockatoos who greet us each morning and the ducks who live nearby.
These natural encounters offer beautiful opportunities for children to develop wonder, respect and reverence for the living world. Through observing the animals, learning about their homes, food and needs, and understanding their boundaries, children begin to recognise that we share our environment with many other living beings.

These spontaneous experiences become meaningful learning moments, nurturing curiosity, kindness, responsibility and a deep connection to nature.
