This week is Speech Pathology Week and this year’s theme is COMMUNICATION CREATES POSSIBILITY 🗣️

This theme is close to our hearts as communication is one of our core values. Everyone deserves to be heard, understood and supported to communicate in their own way.

We recognise our wonderful school speech pathologists, Peta, Di and Hannah, along with all the external speech pathologists who support our Champions.

Thank you for working alongside our students, staff and families to build the skills needed to connect, learn, participate and thrive. 💙

Happy Week 7!

Our PBL focus this week is: We pay for our items at the shop 💙

Catching up from last week, some of our JS and SS classes headed to the Gold Coast Airshow for an action packed day of incredible aerial displays, thrilling stunts and unforgettable experiences! ✈️

We have also had a very busy week preparing for our upcoming Book Week celebrations. LP6 are creating some wonderful crafts to display 📚🎨

We welcomed some special guests, Matt and Kayne from team MNM's, who came to meet our Student Leaders and show us the car they will soon be driving from Toowoomba to Mount Dare as part of the Great Endeavour Rally! 🚙

With the support of our students, parents, carers and staff, our Student Leaders raised over $800 for Matt and Kayne’s team through the Big Sizzle at the end of Term 2!
The rally raises vital funds to support people with intellectual disability across Australia. We wish them all the best on their journey and cannot wait to follow their incredible adventures.

To finish the week, Champion Brew was on today for a special Friday session, as the next two Fridays fall on a public holiday and pupil free day. ☕

We were very fortunate to receive a generous donation of coffee beans from Coffee Boothers, giving our students more opportunities to practise their barista skills while our staff enjoyed their coffees.

OUR BOOK DRIVE DONATION STATION IS FILLING UP! 📚

A huge thank you to everyone who has donated a new or gently loved book to help grow our school library.
There is still plenty of time to contribute! Simply complete a Book Donation Tag, place it inside the front cover of your book and then pop your donation into the container located in Admin.
We welcome picture books, chapter books and everything in between!

Families are invited to browse and purchase books from our Book Fair next Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday between 8:30 am and 9:15 am. Every purchase helps support our school library!

And don’t forget the main event... our Book Character Parade is only one week away! 🎭

Week 5 means it's...STAFF WELLBEING WEEK 🌟
A week where we celebrate the incredible staff who make Coomera State Special School such a special place to work.

We had our Champion Mail Station, where every staff member received an envelope for colleagues to fill with positive messages, shout outs and thank you notes recognising all that they do. It was a simple but meaningful way to spread kindness and positivity throughout the week. 💌

We also enjoyed a creativity afternoon of bracelet making and live painting. Now, some people may ask, what exactly were we painting? Let’s just say... Mr Brock, a lounge, a wig, a shirt decorated with Sharpie and a fake necklace and suddenly we were recreating the iconic drawing scene from Titanic. Photos intentionally not included... 🎨😂

We also had an amazing sandwich and roll making station set up for lunch on Thursday. We could not have done it without our generous donors, Bakers Delight and IGA Coomera Waters! 🥪
Bakers Delight had their delicious fresh bread and rolls ready to go, while IGA Coomera Waters provided everything we could possibly need, including chicken, ham, spinach, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers and onion 🍞 🍗 🥬 🍅 🥒 🧅
Your generosity helped us create a very special lunch for our hardworking team and everyone LOVED it. Thank you for supporting our staff!

Lastly, this would not be possible if not for all the hard work of our wonderful Wellbeing Team. Thank you for organising such a thoughtful week, and to every staff member who helped spread a little kindness and positivity across our school. 💙

We are halfway through Term 3 and what a wild one it's shaping up to be! Thankyou everyone who supported our Coomera State Special School P&C Association Krispy Kreme Fundraiser and to our amazing volunteers Jake, Kelly and Shaye who handed them all out today! We are so lucky to have such a dedicated team. 🧡

🚌 If you have already noted that your order is to go home with your child on the bus, it will be sent home with them as requested. There is no need to attend a pick-up time for these orders.

If you’re unable to collect your order yourself, please organise for a friend or family member to collect it on your behalf. ❤️
