We've had a HUGE week of AFL here at CSSS! ✨🏉

Last weekend, some of our Champions and their families had the opportunity to showcase their skills during the NAB AFL Auskick Disability Inclusion halftime event at People First Stadium. A massive thank you to the families who sent through amazing photos for us to share! 📸

The AFL fun continued back at school when Daisy, the Gold Coast Suns Disability Inclusion Ambassador, joined us in the hall for some footy fun and we had a ball! 🏉

If your Champion has something exciting you'd love us to showcase, please send it through. We absolutely love seeing and celebrating their achievements! 🌟

Our Year 12's headed out on a Queensland Rail excursion, building their travel and navigation skills while riding the rails🚆

And of course, there's been plenty of fantastic learning happening in classrooms too… but we already knew that, didn't we? 😉📚

What an incredible week! Next week is shaping up to be just as busy with the Music Mates Rock Orchestra Concert on Thursday, followed by the Coomera State Special School P&C Association Disco 🪩

Our Week 7!

As part of National Reconciliation Week, students have been exploring and celebrating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures through engaging Dreamtime stories and learning experiences.
Students enjoyed a fantastic excursion to IndigiScapes, where they explored the natural environment, spotted local wildlife, and learned about a variety of bush tucker plants.
These experiences provided valuable opportunities to learn about the rich knowledge, culture, and connection to Country of First Nations peoples 🖤💛❤️

LP15 and JS1 enjoyed a hands on way of exploring this week's PBL focus, "We follow the bus and taxi rules" 🚌
Our bus drivers wore their seatbelts, looked after their passengers, and kept everyone safe while following the rules😆
A fun and engaging way for students to practise safe travel behaviours and reinforce the importance of travelling safely.

The Gold Coast Disability Expo is on tomorrow at the Coomera Indoor Sports Centre! CLO Taylor attended today and highly recommends it. It's a great opportunity to connect with local providers, explore services, and learn about support options available for you and your family.
