St Philip's Christian College Snowy Mountains

St Philip's Christian College Snowy Mountains Snowy Mountains Christian School is a Christian School located in Cooma, NSW offering NSW curriculum for Years K-10. Proverbs 22:6. Ella Meyer
Principal

St Philip’s Christian College Snowy Mountains offers a personalised approach to education, combining smaller class sizes with a nurturing environment that supports both academic success and personal growth. We aim to prepare our students to contribute significantly in a global society. SMCS is a member of Christian Schools Australia (CSA) and accredited in NSW. Choosing a school for your child is

one of the most important decisions that a parent can make. We at Snowy Mountains Christian School realise this and believe that our school offers your child something unique. We know that an Education based on sound Christian principles, values and ethics gives your child a rewarding, enriching and holistic educational experience which prepares them for the Journey of Life. As such we can partner with parents in the spiritual development of your child supporting the Biblical mandate "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it." Our school is small and caring. Each student is known individually and is valued for who they are. The Pastoral Care your child will receive at Snowy Mountains Christian School is a vital component of our daily routine and is, we believe, an integral part of a sound and rich educational experience. If you are interested in enrolling your children at SMCS, I encourage you to request an information pack online or through our office.

This afternoon we had the wonderful opportunity of hosting our Federal MP, Kristy McBain to the College. Mr Muddle had the opportunity to tell the story of St Philip’s Christian College, speak of the wider organisation and all of the wonderful work being done across the group of schools, and discuss how our government can support the College, both now and into the future. MP McBain was impressed with our College site, excited for us as we venture into Years 11 and 12 in the coming years, and is keen to continue connecting with us in future. We have invited her to our 30th celebrations early next year, which she hopes to attend. It was a wonderful opportunity to build connection and community with our Australian Government Representative, and we hope to continue building that partnership in future.

Today’s parade and activities were a hit with students and staff embracing dressing up as a favourite book character.
Thank you to our preschool friends who came and joined us for the morning too, it was wonderful to have you along.

Today's Grandparents and Special Friends Day was a wonderful opportunity to open our College to extra special guests.
The day began with an assembly including singing, dancing, a quick talk from Mr Muddle and a sneak preview song from our upcoming College Musical "Happily Forever After". This was followed by our guests visiting Primary classrooms and then a high tea style morning tea shared with Primary students.
A fantastic morning spent with very special people.
Huge thanks to our Cooma Baptist Church friends who faithfully baked, prepared, set up, served and cleaned up the morning tea.

Secondary students are working on lacrosse skills during PE this term, learning the techniques required and rules of the game.
It’s wonderful to see them embracing less common sports and taking on the challenge to master new skills.

Living so close to the snow we couldn’t pass up the opportunity for a whole school excursion to the snowfields.
