A little distraction - this old Robland Spindle Moulder will be cleaned up and setup for pattern copying using templates. It’s my favourite process for building bending jigs and rough shaping furniture components

Homage to the simple shaped clamping block. A simple thing that changes outcomes. A block cut to the complementary angle means a sash clamp will pull an angled joint square. Nothing fancy needed, make them to suit the project.

Full scale drawings are great.
You can mark directly from the drawing to your timber components without having to measure. And then lay the actual components on the drawing and you can see straight away if a part is correct.

In the furniture making course students are translating a 1:5 scale drawing into a full scale workshop drawing, and then using it to mark up the parts for their “workshop stool” project.
