🌟 WE WON!! 🌟

The Village School Gold Coast has been named the national KITCHEN GARDEN TRAILBLAZER in the 2026 National Kitchen Garden Awards! 🌱🏆

Selected from hundreds of schools and early childhood services across Australia, this award recognises the way our Villagers grow, harvest, prepare and share—connecting learning with food, sustainability and our wider community.

From our much-loved garden at our original campus to the beginnings of our new Balcony to Bowl: Seeds to Service program, our kitchen garden journey continues to grow alongside us. 🌿

We are incredibly proud of our Villagers, staff and families who have planted, nurtured, cooked, created and believed in this program. This national award belongs to our whole Village! 💙

A huge thank you to the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Foundation, award presenter Wiltshire, and judges Stephanie Alexander AO, Kylie Kwong AM, Connie Cao and Darren Robertson.

Our little Village is officially a national trailblazer! 🤩🌱

After reviewing a record 647 entries from across Australia, we are thrilled to announce the nine winners of the National Kitchen Garden Awards 2026.

🐝 A HUGE THANK YOU TO STEVE FROM NATIVE HIVE CRAFT SUPPLIES! 🐝

We are incredibly grateful to Steve for his extraordinarily generous donation of three beautiful native bee raffle prizes for our Village Kids Market! 💛

There were MANY raffle tickets sold, with every dollar raised going towards the redevelopment of our balcony garden in our new space—ready for the launch of our Balcony to Bowl: Seeds to Service program in 2027! 🌱🥣

Our three lucky winners were absolutely BEAMING with their prizes!

Thank you, Steve, for supporting our Villagers, our garden and the next exciting chapter of learning at The Village School! 🐝🌿💛

🎉 WE ARE NATIONAL FINALISTS!!! 🎉

Out of almost 650 incredible entries from across Australia, The Village School Gold Coast has been named one of just three national finalists in the 2026 Kitchen Garden Trailblazer Award! 🌱❤️

This recognition celebrates creativity, sustainability, community spirit and learning that extends well beyond the classroom—and we could not be prouder of our Villagers, staff and wider Village community.

From growing and harvesting to cooking, sharing and caring for Country, our kitchen garden "Balcony to Bowl" adventures embody what Village learning is all about: authentic, hands-on and deeply connected to the world around us.

What an honour to stand alongside Dalaigur & Scribbly Gum Dalai and Swan Reach Primary School as national finalists.

The category winner will be announced on 15 September…but today, we are simply celebrating this enormous achievement!

HAPPY FATHER’S DAY to all the wonderful dads, grandads and special father figures ❤️

Today, we also celebrate the many different ways families show up for their children; the mums who step into dad’s shoes when needed, the dads who step into mum’s shoes, the grandparents who step into the role of parents, and every special person who helps a child feel safe, supported and deeply loved.

It truly takes a Village to raise and educate a child ❤️
