Congratulations to Courtney! Australian Champion in the Veterans non-contact division for the 4th year in a row! Always quietly working hard towards her goals and being an amazing dojo mum looking after us all! 🥰

Congratulations to Senpai Tadeo Gale, Australian Champion in the lightweight full-contact division! Senpai was also awarded the Hanshi Taylor best technique award for the tournament. This is on the back of a very successful year for Senpai after also taking 1st place in the Victorian Championships and NSW Championships earlier this year.

This is a testament to the incredibly hard work Senpai does inside and outside of the dojo, his humility and his drive for continued improvement. Despite all this he takes out time to teach regular classes at Coogee Dojo, and to coach and mentor our younger students. A great role model and leader within Coogee Dojo and our wider organisation. Last month we had the NSW Autumn Training Camp and senior grading. A massive showing from Coogee with just over 40 participants from our dojo. There were many excellent sessions from a variety of highly skilled and experienced instructors from across our organisation, as well as some excellent mindset and mobility sessions. All Coogee candidates in the senior grading passed. Special mention to Senpai Tom grading to Nidan after over 20 years of committment to training since attaining Shodan in 2004. We also welcomed Senpai Roger, Senpai Ava, Senpai Lulu and Senpai Arianna to the Yundasha, who all successfully graded to Shodan after dedicating nearly a decade to their training. We continue to be amazed by the community and camaraderie at Coogee Dojo. Your unwavering committment and support for each other is what makes Coogee Dojo. Osu

Alongside training partner and squad member Senpai Nick from Maroubra dojo, who won the Open Middleweight title!
