Things are GROWING at St Brigid’s!

Our Garden Club is officially underway and our little green thumbs have been very busy! We have beans growing, tomatoes and potatoes on the way… and plenty of eager gardeners checking for progress! 🌱

A HUGE thank you to our fabulous dad Michael, who, together with some of our wonderful parent helpers, has put so much time and effort into getting our garden up and running.

We can’t wait to see what we can grow, harvest and hopefully turn into something delicious!

From getting involved in our classrooms to sharing their own interests, the boys even joined in for a very special show and tell featuring Bluey the blue-tongue lizard 🦎and four very cute stick insects! 🪵🪲 (thanks to Mrs Doyle & The Hodgson fam)
Our classrooms were buzzing with excitement, curiosity and plenty of questions! What a fantastic experience for our students and a wonderful opportunity for our Marcellin boys to connect with our younger learners ⭐

After exploring natural disasters in Science, Lea Year 5, took her learning home! 🌏 Over two weeks, she independently created an incredible project on volcanoes, floods, cyclones, droughts and tsunamis, then confidently shared it with the class.

Our Year 5 and 6 students have proudly represented St Brigid’s in debating competitions against schools from our local area. Along the way, they’ve learned to collaborate, listen, research and speak confidently in front of an audience.
We are incredibly proud of the confidence, teamwork and courage they have shown! Congratulations to all of our students 🗣️📝

What a fantastic day at the Conference Athletics Championships! Our students gave it their all across the track and field, with personal bests, medals, plenty of cheers, laughter and, most importantly, incredible support for one another.
We are so proud of every student who competed, encouraged a friend, celebrated a PB or cheered from the sidelines. 🏃‍♀️🏅👏

Our School community gathered to celebrate the Feast Day of St Mary of the Cross MacKillop, Australia’s first saint and a timeless example of courage, faith and practical compassion.

Year 3 and Year 4 students led us through prayer, song and reflection in a beautiful liturgy. Inspired by her enduring motto- “Never see a need without doing something about it”- students donated a gold coin to the Charitable Works Fund to support vital local ministries that carry on her legacy today.

At St Brigid’s, our staff don’t just dedicate themselves to the learning and wellbeing of our students, they also give their time to support those in need through the wonderful work of A Touch of Kindness A Touch of Kindness 💙
A huge thank you to our Principal Melanie White, for supporting this initiative, and to Louise Doyle, Veronica Bailey and Diane Karas, who generously give up their mornings and lunchtimes each week to prepare sandwiches with our dedicated students. Thank you also to our teaching staff for giving up time with their own families to help others.
And to Con and the amazing team at A Touch of Kindness, thank you for the care, kindness and smiles you bring to so many each week. We are truly inspired by the difference you make. 🤍
