WESTERN SECONDARY GIRLS & BOYS CRICKET TRIALS UPDATE

Western Secondary Boys & Girls Cricket trials scheduled for tomorrow have been postponed due to wet weather. Trials will now be held on Wednesday 2nd September at the same venues.

𝐌𝐎𝐑𝐄 𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐍 𝐀 𝐌𝐄𝐀𝐋 — 𝐌𝐀𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐀 𝐃𝐈𝐅𝐅𝐄𝐑𝐄𝐍𝐂𝐄

Students from Room 14 head out into our community to deliver Meals on Wheels to local residents.

Delivering meals each visit, students have the opportunity to not only provide a nutritious meal, but also share a friendly chat and a smile with members of our community.

It’s a wonderful hands-on experience that teaches our students the value of kindness, compassion and giving back.

🍪 𝐘𝐄𝐀𝐑 𝟖 𝐂𝐎𝐎𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆 – 𝐂𝐇𝐎𝐂𝐎𝐋𝐀𝐓𝐄 𝐂𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐊𝐋𝐄 𝐁𝐈𝐒𝐂𝐔𝐈𝐓𝐒

Year 8 Cooking students have been busy in the kitchen making chocolate crinkle biscuits.

Students followed the recipe, measured their ingredients and developed their skills in preparing, mixing and shaping the dough before baking their biscuits to perfection.

A great practical lesson with plenty of chocolate, teamwork and, of course, taste testing!

𝐌𝐘𝐒𝐓𝐑𝐄𝐍𝐆𝐓𝐇𝐒 – 𝐅𝐋𝐄𝐗𝐈𝐁𝐈𝐋𝐈𝐓𝐘

This week we recognise 𝐌𝐫 𝐖𝐞𝐬𝐭, 𝐌𝐚𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐥𝐞𝐲 𝐏𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐡𝐚𝐦, 𝐓𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐂𝐮𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐡𝐚𝐦 and 𝐀𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐁𝐚𝐱𝐭𝐞𝐫 for their strength of 𝐅𝐥𝐞𝐱𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲.

People with the 𝐅𝐥𝐞𝐱𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 strength are usually relaxed and easy going. No one feels pressure or expectation from you. That makes others feel more at ease. Changes don’t stress you. You can adjust to meet the demands of a dynamic world. You can think on your feet and make quick decisions calmly.

🪚𝐘𝐄𝐀𝐑 𝟏𝟏 𝐓𝐈𝐌𝐁𝐄𝐑 – 𝐁𝐔𝐈𝐋𝐃𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐒𝐊𝐈𝐋𝐋𝐒 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐇𝐒𝐂🪚

Year 11 Timber students are currently constructing floating wall cabinets, putting their practical skills and knowledge into action.

Students have had to make a range of decisions throughout the project, including design features, timber selection and choosing the most appropriate joinery techniques to achieve the desired result.

These projects provide valuable experience in planning, problem-solving and precision — all skills that will be important as students move towards their HSC Major Projects.

No one can call you lazy as you get in, work hard and achieve something everyday. Your application may be in learning and study, work or physical activity. But if the day passes without some form of productivity or achievement, you will feel dissatisfied. You like goals and will hit your target. Where others fade, you have energy to work long hours without burning out.
