This week, our learning focus is on the letter “Z” 🔤✨

Z is for Zebra 🦓, Zoo 🦁, and Zip 🤐

Children explored the sound and recognition of the letter Z through tracing, colouring, stories, and hands-on activities that supported early literacy, creativity, and fine motor development.

We also learned the Chinese words “大” (Big) and “小” (Small) 🇨🇳, while exploring the number 7 🔢 through fun counting and play-based maths activities.

This week, our learning focus is on the letter “J” 🔤✨

J is for Jelly 🍮, Jam 🍓, and Jellyfish 🪼!

Children explored the letter J through tracing, colouring, creative jellyfish crafts, and even making delicious jelly together. These hands-on activities help build early literacy, fine motor skills, and creativity.

We also explored early maths and counting through fun, play-based activities that encourage problem-solving and number confidence 🔢📚.

Children enjoyed the beautiful winter sunshine ☀️ while camping outdoors, playing in tents ⛺, and creating wonderful memories through imaginative play and adventure.

🌟 What an incredible School Holiday Program at Sparkles Early Learning! 🌟

We had a fun-filled and exciting holiday, with children enjoying a wide range of engaging, educational, and play-based experiences.

👮 Community Helpers – Police Visit
We were delighted to welcome our local police officers to Sparkles. Children learned who to ask for help, when to seek help, and had the opportunity to explore the police uniform, equipment, and police vehicle. It was an exciting and memorable experience that helped children build confidence while strengthening Sparkles Early Learning with the local community.

✈️ Family Partnership – Pilot Visit
One of our wonderful parents, who is a pilot, visited our centre to share his profession. Children learned how aeroplanes fly, explored flight routes around the world, and asked many thoughtful questions. Learning from families helps build strong partnerships and relationships with families.

🐶 Animal Encounter
Our special puppy visitor brought lots of smiles! Children learned about caring for animals, took turns gently patting and cuddling the puppy, and developed empathy, respect, and confidence through positive interactions.

⚽ World Cup Celebration
Children explored the excitement of the World Cup through stories, discussions, and activities, promoting cultural awareness, inclusion, and an appreciation of different countries and communities.

🧪 Science Day
Our young scientists investigated, experimented, and discovered through hands-on science activities that encouraged curiosity, critical thinking, and problem-solving.

🏅 Mini Olympics
Children enjoyed active games and challenges that supported teamwork, coordination, confidence, and gross motor development while having lots of fun.

It has been a busy and rewarding holiday filled with learning, laughter, creativity, and new experiences.

This week, our learning focus is on the letter “O” 🔤✨

O is for Octopus 🐙 and O is for Orange 🍊

Children explored the sound and recognition of the letter “O” through a variety of fun, hands-on learning experiences. They enjoyed creating their own octopus craft, encouraging creativity and fine motor development 🎨✂️

We also made fresh orange juice together 🍊🥤, giving children the opportunity to explore healthy eating, sensory experiences, and practical life skills.

Through play-based learning, children continue to build early literacy skills, confidence, and a love of learning 📚🌟

G is for Grapes 🍇

Children enjoyed painting beautiful grapes while exploring the sound and recognition of the letter “G” through fun and creative activities 🎨

We also learned the concepts of “big” and “small” in Chinese , while continuing to explore identity, emotions ❤️, and numbers 🔢 through play-based learning.

Everyday is filled with creativity, confidence, and joyful learning

D is for Dinosaur 🦖, D is for Dog 🐶

Children are exploring the sound and recognition of D through fun, hands-on literacy activities, stories, and play-based learning experiences.

We are also extending our learning into colours 🎨 and numbers 🔢 in Spanish 🇪🇸, supporting culture and language inclusion 🌏🤝 and helping children build early language skills in a fun and meaningful way.

Children are exploring the sound and recognition of M through meaningful words, songs, and hands-on activities, while we also celebrate and appreciate all the wonderful mothers for Mother’s Day ❤️

Learning becomes even more special when it connects to love, family, and real-life experiences.

We’re halfway through our Vacation Care program, and what an exciting journey it has been! 🌟
Our children have been busy exploring, creating, discovering, and learning through play every single day.
So far, the children have enjoyed:
• Easter egg hunting full of fun and teamwork 🥚🐰
• Creative face painting activities
• “Master Chef” cooking experiences in the kitchen 🧑‍🍳
• Science experiments and learning talks about recycling and caring for our environment 🌳 🌍
• Sensory play trays and dinosaur small-world play 🦕 🦖
• Special animal cuddle sessions that brought lots of smiles and curiosity
• Daily Mandarin and Spanish learning through fun songs, games, and conversations
