Project update – hydrotherapy pool

Dear school community,

I have some exciting news to share. Construction is about to begin on the new hydrotherapy pool at our school.

The Victorian School Building Authority (VSBA) has appointed a builder to build this project, with construction set to begin in the coming weeks.

This project is being delivered through the Victorian Government’s Hydrotherapy Pools at Specialist Schools Fund.

Hydrotherapy pools can have significant health benefits. Having one on site at their school can make accessing a pool easier for students.

What we’re building
The new building will be located next to our administration building. The project will include:
• A 15-metre hydrotherapy pool, with a depth to 1.5 metres and accessible ramp
• Student and staff toilets, shower/showers and change rooms
• Pool plant room
• External and landscaping works

The construction is expected to be completed in Term 3, 2027.

Where possible, the builders will minimise disruption to usual school days. We will work closely with them to manage disruptions when they are unavoidable.

I’m also pleased to share the much-anticipated designs for our project and a site map of the building, which are attached.

What an amazing start to Book Week 2026 with our door display competition!

The winner of this year's competition is the PINK GROUP with Black Cockatoo!

Every class did an AMAZING job! A special mention to Yellow Group's amazing effort with The Rainbow Serpent, Orange and Green Group's combined effort with Tiddalick the Frog and to EEP's amazing work on the book Good Night, Owl!

Today some of our students had a great time participating in the Endeavour Cup with other regional South West specialist schools. How great do they look in their new basketball uniforms! Well done for playing so well and displaying awesome sportsmanship!

Road Smart Session with Sarah, Asad and Murdoch

On Tuesday, some of our students took part in a fun and interactive Road Smart session with Sarah, Asad and Murdoch. They learned about the Safe System approach to road safety and how safe speeds, safer roads, safe vehicles and responsible road users all help keep people safe.

Students watched a video, joined in discussions and learned about the four parts of the Safe System: Safe Vehicles, Safe Speeds, Safe Roads and Safe Road Users.

They also completed hands-on activities that explored road safety in their local area and around the world. The highlight for many students was using a VR headset to experience road safety in different eras.

Road Smart Interactive is an evidence based, highly interactive road safety education program developed by the Transport Accident Commission (TAC) and delivered in partnership with Museums Victoria / Melbourne Museum.
