Father’s Day

Dads, grab your calendars. Friday 4th September, 8 am, is all about you!

Join us in the Multi-Purpose Room for a delicious breakfast, with the fantastic Lions Club firing up the BBQs to cook up sausages, hamburgers, and onions. Tea and coffee will be flowing to keep you fuelled.

Just like our much-loved Mother's Day celebration, we'll have a photo booth to capture the memories, board games for some friendly family fun and the opportunity to visit your child’s classroom. There will be table tennis in the courtyard, so bring your competitive spirit and see who's got the best backhand and an option to try your hand at baseball on the oval.

Come along, relax, and enjoy a morning celebrating our wonderful dads. More details to follow soon!

Happy School Principals Day, Karl! 🍎

Today we thank our Principal, Karl Dwyer for everything he does for Sacred Heart.

Karl is the first face at the gate in the morning and the last one to switch off the lights. He knows every student by name, supports his staff, and never loses sight of what matters most - the kids in our care.

Leading a school takes patience, humour, and a genuine heart for community. Karl brings all three, every single day.

📚 OUR BOOK FAIR IS HERE! 📚

Our biannual Scholastic Book Fair is running all this week.
Students can purchase before school, at lunchtime and after school. Final purchase day is Friday lunchtime.

Each class will preview the Fair during their library lesson and fill out a wish list to bring home. Our Foundation and Grade 1 students will be helped along by their Grade 5/6 buddies.

How to pay:
💳 Online via the Scholastic BOOK FAIR site (instructions on the back of the wish list/brochure) - just note your receipt number and item names on the slip and return it to school.
💵 Cash or EFTPOS also available at the school office and in the library
Parents welcome! Come and browse with your child after school from 3.15pm–4.00pm, today to Thursday 30th July.

A huge thank you to Yolanda for all her hard work preparing the Fair, and to Anne for covering the library on Thursday and Friday so students can shop.

🎨 Our school is looking extra bright and colourful! When you walk through the corridors, you see amazing artworks created by our talented students on display. It's wonderful to see their creativity shining throughout Sacred Heart.

Term 3 is officially underway at Sacred Heart!
It's been so good to hear the holiday stories this week and to see our students settle straight back into the swing of things. There's a big term ahead, thanks to our families for getting everyone back through the gate.

What a way to finish Term 2! 💚💛
Students looked fantastic in their green and gold to cheer on the Socceroos in today's World Cup match.
We started the morning with a beautiful liturgy led by Father Andrew.
There was plenty of sport on too, our Grade 3 and 4 students enjoyed a range of games, while Year 5 and 6 took on Elliminyt Primary School in Winter Sports.
And to top it all off, it was Hot Dog Day! 🌭

⛏️ Sovereign Hill Camp 2026 ⛏️

Our Year 5s stepped back in time last week, experiencing life on the Ballarat goldfields during the 1850s gold rush. From panning for gold to exploring underground mines, watching a gold pour, and immersing themselves in the sights and sounds of a living history museum - every moment was packed with learning and adventure.

It was so wonderful to see our students curious, engaged, and making memories that will stick with them long after the trip. A huge thank you to our amazing parent helpers who made this camp possible, and to our Year 5 teachers and staff for organising such a meaningful experience.

Our Tech Club students have been busy this semester!

This term the team took on the first of two National AEL Minecraft Build Challenges for the year, researching First Nations Dreaming stories and bringing them to life block by block.

After plenty of planning and designing, students built their own Minecraft recreations of three incredible stories: the Cunning Crow, Tiddalick the Frog and the Rainbow Serpent. It was wonderful to watch them weave together storytelling, culture and creativity through their builds.

The fun did not stop there. Students also got hands on with our Sphero bots, designing and building their own racing tracks for the bots to navigate.

A fantastic effort from everyone involved. We cannot wait to see what they create in our next challenge later this year!

Our Grades 4-6 Art Club has been super busy lately! We started off the term making some peaceful mindful mobiles, and now we’re moving on to works inspired by Australian artist CJ Hendry.

We have already designed our own awesome JuJu toy characters and next up we’ll be creating some artworks inspired by her recent Flower Market installations.

We love seeing their creativity shine every week!

Our Year 4 students had a fantastic experience working with John from RAK Radio this week! 📻
The students rolled up their sleeves to write their very own radio segments -and even got the chance to perform them on the mic. Along the way, they learned all about radio awareness and what goes into creating great audio content.

A big thank you to John from RAK Radio for sharing his time and expertise with our students.
