Education at Wydinia has a strong focus on looking after our natural and man made environments, acknowledging the traditional owners of the land, The Gulidjan People and following our carefully considered Environmental Vision plan for our kindergarten.
We begin our learning by looking at our own immediate environment - our play spaces inside and outside. Children may find it difficult to comprehend the impact of actions on the larger community if they do not understand the impact they have on their immediate environments ie. home and kindergarten.
Attached is a diagram which shows the progression of our learning, as we master skills and acquire knowledge in each level of our sustainability plan.

Sorry everyone, diagram will not attach. Once we problem solve the situation, we will post it.

An interesting read. Something we are researching and reflecting on in our kindergarten programs. It is imperative for educators to remain current in their thinking, researching and reflecting on the theories which underpin our practice, and the interconnectedness between past, contemporary and 21st century theories.

26 October 2020 New episodes of Bluey are here and excitement is high. We reflect on the astounding 'Bluey effect' and discuss the role pop-culture and digital media can play in responsive early education programs.

We’re celebrating Children’s Week! 🎉
Did you know BCYF has a suite of free online resources available to help support children’s play-based learning? These activities reflect the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework (VEYLDF) outcomes.

During Children’s Week, check out our online educational experiences the whole family can enjoy, including a new ‘Mud Play Experience’- it’s a wonderful way of calming the mind and developing a sense of touch.

See Mud Play and other fun activities online at https://www.bcyfkindergartens.org.au/online-play-based-learning/.

Our children have started planting spinach seedlings this afternoon. In Wydinia, children are learning to grow vegetables , and develop sense of achievement when they harvest, cook and eat them.
Thanks to our generous families who have donated plants. More vegetable planting next week, stay tune!
