The SCU Psychological Society has had a fantastic few years, providing great events for our members, including various food/social events, information sessions, Psych Hikes and study sessions.

We would love to continue providing these events and more in 2020- but we need your help!

As a few of our committee members have finished their education, we have openings for new committee members.
If you're interested in joining the committee, we have some open positions for President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, and general members.

Halloween trivia tonight!

Calling all 4th-year 5th-year 6th-year and beyond psychology students and staff!

Are you applying for a Psychology Master's or PhD or are already studying at that level? Or, do you have a role in teaching and mentoring postgraduate psychology students? If yes, we want to hear from you! The University of Tasmania is investigating AHPRA's registration process for provisional psychologists. AHPRA is the national body responsible for regulating Australia’s health practitioners under the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law. Provisional registration, which all trainee psychologists must undertake, asks you to disclose any impairments to them in writing. We're interested in what types of impairment you think should be disclosed.

We're hoping to hear from Psychology students and staff from around the country and we're hoping our research will help refine AHPRA's registration process. We ask for 10 minutes of your time to complete a quick survey and you can go in the draw to win a $50 voucher.

Disclosing impairments to AHPRA: What counts? The University of Tasmania is funding a study that aims to investigate whether different people have different views about what impairments should be disclosed to the Australia Health Practitioner Regulatory Authority (AHPRA) when applying for provisional registration as a psychologist.

Get ready for Halloween trivia, cohosted with the SCU Gaming Club 👻 🎃 if you were around last year, you’ll remember how fun the night was, free food, great costumes, and fantastic trivia ❤️ this year at the uni lounge, free for students or gold coin donation, 31st October, looking forward to it!

Next week, Thursday 12th is RU OK Day! Headspace will be at the CHEC campus, running activities, music, food and prizes 🥰

Yesterday’s psych hike was a great success! Despite a slight detour (we ended up at Diggers Head before making our way to Charlesworth Bay as planned), it was a beautiful day for a walk, a picnic, and we even spied a dolphin 🐬 😊
