Yesterday our team was visited by a member of the Early Learning Commission for a random spot check.
This can be very daunting for people in our profession but I am so proud as director of the team for their knowledge and ability to answer all of her questions including important questions about being a mandatory reporter.
At Gumnut we use these spot checks to show our knowledge and skills but also to develop them as well! As we all know learning is a life long adventure especially in an ever changing environment like Early Education.
Well done to the Gumnut Educators and children for making Gumnut a wonderful place to be.

We were the very happy recipients of a grant where we were able to purchase a new play kitchen and felt foods that represent the healthy fruits and vegetables our children eat as well as traditional bush tucker foods.

When you walk down our hallway you will see the works of a few of our budding photographers!
The children were asked if they would like to use the Gumnut issued phone to capture photos of the nature in our yard!
Their educator scaffolded how to zoom the focus in and out and how to press the button, with further support to hold the device steady the photographers were good to snap away.

Have you seen our awesome new fence!! Thanks to creative landscapes we now have a child safe fence. While we are sad that the children can no longer see out into the car park. Our wombats are now safe to use the bathroom without clear view of passers by, the fence is now more stable after years of bark chip build up on the creek side and surprisingly the yard now looks bigger!

Don’t forget tomorrow is a public holiday and Gumnut will be closed 😊

The Wallaby children have a surprise for you all!!! This year we have made a contribution to the Coffs show!!!
The theme women in agriculture, we made a shearing shed, included 4 notable women who have made a difference in Agriculture and what is a farm without some hand print animals!!
