Tomorrow, the Coffs Coast comes alive with the colour, food, music and stories at Ciao Coffs Festa Italiana.

For generations, Italian families have helped shape the Coffs Coast. Many arrived here in the years after World War II, bringing with them their knowledge of farming and hard work, and becoming an important part of our agricultural history. Some local families can trace their Coffs Coast story all the way back to the 1920s.

Tomorrow is a chance to celebrate that heritage, and to share it with the whole community.

The day will also raise funds for the Children’s Ward at Coffs Harbour Health Campus.

Whether you have Italian heritage, love Italian food and culture, or simply want to enjoy a fantastic community day, everyone is welcome.

Anzac Day is a national day of remembrance in Australia, New Zealand and Tonga that broadly commemorates all Australians and New Zealanders "who served and died in all wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations" and "the contribution and suffering of all those who have served".

I would like to share with you the artwork in which Hayley will be creating with the children at Milestones.
As most of you are aware a big part of our philosophy is cultural inclusion, Jo and I have spoken with each other about this topic over the past month talking about what we could include and introduce to the Centre to make it feel more welcoming for all families
A bit of a back story behind this artwork:
I have made this artwork as a piece that represents us all at milestones and the Gumbaynggirr totem “Ocean”. The three waterholes symbolise each room, Preschool, Toddlers and Nursery coming together and meeting in the meeting place. Around the meeting place are 3 symbols, these represent Women, Man and Child. The symbol in the middle of this artwork represents the journey that brings us all together into a place we belong. The dot work within the meeting circle I would love for you all to participate in if you wish, I want this project to represent the children, staff and our families. I want these dots to be you guys, all at milestones. The children and I have started the background of this artwork and I have begun the waterholes, once this is finished I will keep the artwork out so that way if you wish to participate by adding your dot we can do this when you collect your child at the end of the day.
