Congratulations to our incredibly talented netball team who placed 3rd at the Netball NSW Regional Final held in Port Macquarie on Wednesday!

Today was 1B and 1R's turn to explore the Botanical Gardens using our five senses. We listened to the sounds of nature, explored different textures, spotted beautiful colours and shapes, and enjoyed the wonderful smells of the plants and flowers. What a fantastic way to learn, explore and connect with the natural world - many thanks go to the Nature Discovery Centre for a wonderful excursion!

As part of their Learning Module this term, 'Sensing Our World', Year 1 are learning about how our brain and senses work together as an amazing system to help us understand and experience the world. Year 1 are participating in a Bird Language 101 Lesson and a Sensory Walk at the North Coast Regional Botanic Gardens this week to further explore their 'senses'.

During the Bird Language 101 lesson, students practiced using their ears and eyes to tune into nature, learning how birds communicated with one another and what their calls could tell us about our surroundings. On the Sensory Walk, children engaged all five senses as they touched different plant textures, smelled native flowers, listened to the canopy, and observed the vibrant colours of the bush. Such an exciting, hands-on experience that brought our classroom learning to life!
