Stop Fighting Your Chords: A Beginner-Friendly Fix for Buzzing, Muted and Messy Guitar Chords

18/08/2026

🎸 Does your guitar feel harder to play than it should?

High strings, poor intonation, old strings and incorrect neck relief can make a perfectly good guitar feel uncomfortable, sound out of tune and refuse to hold its tuning.

I’ve created a free guide covering the first five things I check when a guitar doesn’t feel or sound right:

✅ String height and action
✅ Intonation
✅ String and fretboard condition
✅ Neck relief and truss rod basics
✅ Settling new strings properly

Always awesome to hear from students who are getting real value from the Fret Foundry app! 🎸

One of my students told me today how much they’re loving the Metronome, especially the ability to save tempo presets. It’s a small feature, but it makes practice so much quicker when you can jump straight back into your exercises without resetting everything.

A metronome is one of the best practice tools you can use. It helps develop solid timing, consistency, and accuracy—and if you want to play confidently with other musicians, good timing is essential.

If you’d like to check it out, you can find the Fret Foundry app here:

I’d love to hear what feature has been the most useful in your practice!
