Our theme for 2026 is ‘ambition’ - we want our students to aim higher for themselves, for their own learning and wellbeing. Back in Week 2 we held assemblies, encouraging students to 'lock in' on some actions they can take this year, to be ambitious for themselves. Based on the advocacy of the 2...

Six Coburg High Year 9 students are fortunate to be spending Term 1 at the beautiful Gnurad-Gundidj Campus of the School for Student Leadership in western Victoria. This program is focused on personal development, leadership education, student agency, and project-based learning. The bridge you can see in this photo was built by the students themselves!

⚠️🏫 Coburg High School Update - New Head Building Contractor Appointed to complete Technology Hub!
Following extensive engagement with the Minister for Education Ben Carroll MP , the Victorian School Building Authority (VSBA) and the Coburg High School Community - I’m very pleased to share some good news regarding the delivery of the School’s Technology Hub!
The VSBA has now awarded Devco Project & Construction Management Pty Ltd as the new Head Building Contractor to re-commence and complete the Project.
Work has now recommenced, so Coburg High teachers, staff, students and families can now expect to see increased construction activity. Where possible, the builders will seek to minimise disruption to the usual school days, and will be working closely to mange disruptions where they may be unavoidable.
I genuinely acknowledge and appreciate the patience of the entire School community over recent months, and thank you for your ongoing support in the delivery of this important project, which will provide for 👇🏽
☑️📚 Creating capacity for an additional 250+ students and delivering a world-class, immersive learning environment
☑️🪚🎨 Purpose-built specialist spaces for woodwork, design, textiles, food technology and media studies
☑️➡️ A central spine featuring an iconic Melbourne-style laneway walkway connecting learning spaces
I’m very proud to be continuing to work with the Coburg High School community to deliver this landmark upgrade.

Congratulations to Ridley, recipient of the 10th Annual Nelson Alexander Scholarship, a brand new MacBook to begin High School! Our future Year 7 students are invited each year to submit an essay and multimedia response to the year's prompt, and we were so impressed with all of the well thought out and expressed entries we received.
Thank you to Damian Ponte and Michelle Huang from Nelson Alexander for joining us to present this year's award, and for your ongoing support of our students.
