A simple request became a school project.

After a World Cup celebration at KKCC, our students wanted to recreate that atmosphere here. Our Year 5 leaders took it on, planning the teams, organising the day and seeing their vision through.

The energy on the day was extraordinary. What stood out most was watching our senior students step into responsibility, mentoring and guiding their younger peers with compassion and understanding.

Wonder is a serious learning tool.

Our Year 5 students at KKCC recently welcomed Wild Action's "Zoo Comes to You" incursion, meeting owls, kangaroos, reptiles and more as part of their PYP Unit of Inquiry, "Sharing the Planet."

Up close and unhurried, students studied the animals that share our world. How each species has adapted, what makes each one different, and what it takes for humans and wildlife to live alongside each other.

In Islamic tradition, kindness to every living creature is its own reward. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught that all creatures are communities like our own, and that we are stewards of the earth we share with them. This is the value our students carried into their learning today.

One hundred days ago, they walked in for the very first time.

On Friday 14 August, our little sailors at KKCC celebrated 100 Days of Foundation. Alhamdulillah, it was a day full of joy and pride.

In their first hundred days at school, our students have learned to read and write, to count, to read Qur'an and learn Arabic, to create art and make music, to move their bodies in sport, to work together, to make friends, and most importantly, to grow in confidence.

To mark the day, they wore "100 Days Smarter" crowns and spent the afternoon with a balloon artist, bubbles, fairy bread, beading, colouring and face painting. Every child took home cookies, balloons, and a special gift.

A heartfelt thank you to our Year 11 volunteers for making the day so special, and to our AIA families for celebrating with us.

Our students at KKCC recently came together for our Islamic Quiz Competition, a full day of testing what they know, what they have learned, and what they are still discovering about their faith.

Round by round, students worked in teams, listened carefully, and supported each other through every question. It was inspiring to see their confidence, sportsmanship, and eagerness to learn.

Ideas travel further when we know how to share them.
Our Year 4 students at KKCC recently visited ACMI, the Australian Centre for the Moving Image, as part of their PYP Unit of Inquiry, "How We Express Ourselves."

Across film, animation, games, and interactive digital experiences, students explored how people use media to communicate ideas, stories, and emotions. They asked questions, made connections, and thought carefully about how audiences receive and interpret what they see.

Communicators and inquirers, learning how the world tells its stories.

Curiosity is what makes learning stick!

Our Year 3 students at KKCC recently welcomed a wildlife incursion to school, meeting a sugar glider, a green tree frog, and a range of reptiles up close.

The visit connected directly to our Unit of Inquiry into the life cycles and characteristics of living things. Students asked questions, observed carefully, and touched the animals when invited to. What started as a classroom concept became something they could see, feel, and remember.

Some lessons are older than any textbook.
Our Year 3 students at KKCC recently welcomed an Indigenous Elder for a cultural learning incursion, connecting to their PYP Unit of Inquiry, "Where we are in place and time."

Students listened to a Dreamtime story carrying lessons of humility and respect for elders, learned about the traditional Yidaki (didgeridoo) and the practice of circular breathing, and experienced the significance of ceremonial dance. The learning wove together Physical Education, Performing Arts and Visual Arts into a single transdisciplinary experience.

Knowledgeable, open-minded, principled. Students engaging deeply with First Nations perspectives and the wisdom of Country.
