Ready. Set. React.
How fast is fast? Our Year 10 students set out to answer that in Science, measuring the split second between a signal and a response, using nothing but their own reflexes.

One student releases. The other catches. The distance gives you the number. Then you do it again, because a single result proves nothing.

Inquirers who ask the question. Thinkers who interrogate the result. Risk-takers willing to be proven wrong by their own evidence.

The Living Museum!
Yesterday our Year 7 students proudly showcased their learning through their Living Museum presentations, bringing significant historical figures and events to life.

Their impressive displays reflected the extensive research, creativity and careful preparation that went into each project. Knowledgeable inquirers and confident communicators, sharing what they had learned and the unique pieces they had created.

We sincerely thank all the parents and families who attended to support and encourage our students. Your presence helped make the occasion a memorable celebration of their hard work, curiosity and achievement.

Congratulations to Lynn Kong, our Head of Design and Compass + Digital Citizenship Manager, who has been named a finalist in the 2026 STEM Teachers Award at the Women of Colour in STEM Awards. The award recognises excellence in school STEM teaching and the ability to inspire students through innovative methods and dedicated engagement. The skills that get you the job are not always the ones you learn in class.

This week our Year 9 to Year 12 students at MSC have been working with Young Finance on the practical skills that shape life after school.

Our Year 9 students focused on resume writing, learning how to structure a strong application and how to use AI responsibly to strengthen their work. Our Year 10 students practised elevator pitches and worked through the STAR method in simulated mock interviews. Our Year 11 and Year 12 students have been working closely with our Careers team on their university pathways.

Reflective, knowledgeable, principled. Students preparing for what comes next.

With thanks to the team at Young Finance for the sessions.

Six artists. Six visions. One night.

On Wednesday 26 August, our Year 12 IB Visual Arts students unveil their bodies of work at MSC. Meet the first three of the six.

Yaseen turns his gaze inward. His subject is psychology, the mind itself.

Alya works in layers. She is drawn to density, to what lies beneath the surface.

Adem looks outward. "I have always been interested in the natural world."

Three artists, exploring across charcoal, oil, sculpture, digital and photography. Three more still to come in the lead up to the exhibition.

Hear from them in their own words. See the work Wednesday 26 August, 5pm to 7pm, MSC Hall.

When one part of our community is hurt, another responds.

Our parents and students at MSC recently came together in the kitchen for a cooking class that raised $1,000 for the Kilmore Islamic and Community Centre, after the site being converted into a mosque was severely damaged by fire earlier this year.

Families cooking together. Community giving together. Faith in practice.

Caring and principled - the Learner Profile at work in the world.

With sincere thanks to every parent and student who took part, and with our continued support and prayers for the Kilmore community.

Months of inquiry. Many mediums. One exhibition to share it all.

Save the date for our MYP Celebration on Tuesday 15 September, a presentation night where our Middle Years students will unveil the finished pieces they have been building over months of research and design.

Sculptures, structures, digital media and many materials in between. Each student chose their own medium, developed their own concept, and shaped their own final work.

We look forward to welcoming families to the event.
More to come!
