This daycare has been our other family for over 8 years and we have had 3 kids go all the way through with our last finishing Kindy this year and I am a bit sad leaving this awesome crew as they have cared for my babies and always made us feel welcome and put our kids needs first
I hand over heart tell anyone with babies or kids that are looking for daycare to go to Clontarf Sesame Lane, Therese and her team are second to none

Love all the photos of Christmas, but what happened to SANTA? 😩😢
To my lovely daughter Wendy. Wishing you a beautiful birthday for tomorrow. You are much loved. Mother, Dad and Banjo (Woof Woof). Love you always.😍😍🍸🍸🍾🍾🎂🎂
My son has been going to sesame lane for 3years this year and I absolutely love this centre. I chose this centre because the teachers are gentle and caring and i love seeing upset children in educators arms. I makes me feel comfortable to know my son will get love and cuddles when he needs them. Love the play based kindy programe and the included Japanese lessons and music lessons aswell. My son loves going and i recomend this centre to every new mum I.meet.
Great centre 😁

2023 theme for NAIDOC Week is “For Our Elders”

Across every generation, our Elders have played, and continue to play, an important role and hold a prominent place in our communities and families.

They are cultural knowledge holders, trailblazers, nurturers, advocates, teachers, survivors, leaders, hard workers and our loved ones.

They guide our generations and pave the way for us to take the paths we can take today. Guidance, not only through generations of advocacy and activism, but in everyday life and how to place ourselves in the world.

Sesame Lane Clontarf has many activities planned for this week to celebrate and promote NAIDOC week.

Out and about in our community with our Kindergarten children and educators. The children loved the adventure to explore their world beyond the Kindergarten fence.

Every year we are the honoured guests of St. Peter the Fisherman Anglican Church Floral and Art Festival. This year children had their horizons broadened with the theme “Colour My World “ . All of their senses were stimulated by the displays on show.

Thank you to Reverent Howard and especially to Liz Peters our gracious host for the morning.

On the morning of 25 April 1915, the Anzacs set out to capture the Gallipoli peninsula. So for over 100 years, Australians have taken today to remember the brave soldiers and their families.

Take time today to appreciate the sacrifices made for us all.

Lest we forget.

Love Our Clontarf started in 2021 as a local initiative to keep our community clean and free from litter.

We are very close to the ocean and the potential for litter or rubbish to enter the waterways is very high especially through the stormwater drains. We arecommitted to engage our whole centre to pick up rubbish from the roads and pathways especially if families walk and play in our district.

We have made cotton bags for families to take home to use as rubbish collection bags with the Love Our Clontarf logo printed onto the outside.
If you would like one please see our staff and we will happily provide you one !

Look at our amazing waste warriors from the Senior Kindy group who eagerly picked up rubbish around our block in Lucinda Street and Mayleen Street! Thank you friends Mother Earth and our marine life thanks you!🐠🐟🚮🗑️🚯🚸

Harmony Week at Clontarf where we celebrate everyone and their uniqueness.
All week we have families and educators reading and signing the Hungry Caterpillar book in their home language !
We have cultural dances and songs to share with our little community.
Our centre menu always reflects our diversity under the skilful hands of Miss Suti. The children on a daily basis have the opportunity to taste and delight in foods from many cultures in our world.

Close the Gap day. 16 th March. As part of Clontarf Sesame Lane’s Reconciliation Action plan we reflect and act to ensure that our goal for fairness and respect for our country’s First Nations people is meaningful and put into action.

This year’s Report explores how the cultural determinants of health play a vital role in achieving long-term health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities, with a particular focus on the organisations and individuals that work to enrich the lives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and youth.

Miss Bec Martin our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cultural Liaison Educator meets with our team to help guide and give advice.
She will engage in robust discussions to challenge our team to consider how our team can be part of Closing the Gap especially for the Under Fives in our centre who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.

This week we examined ideas and strategies to improve health outcomes . We have many connections to assist e.g The Better Together health team ( now the Our Health,Our Way ) who consistently freely give resources for our children families and educators to use read or visit. Thank you.

Kindergarten saving lives!

Today our Kindy enjoyed a visit from Mr Paramedic 👨‍⚕️ .
Our children explored what a medical emergency might look like and how they should respond. The workshop taught them how to call for an ambulance, how to recognise a breathing and non-breathing person and how to perform CPR. Thankfully, they were able to resuscitate Miss Lesley 🤪.

What a great day!

Gardening is just one of the many things we are proud of here at Clontarf Sesame Lane.

Part of our daily practices are watering and tendering the plants with the children and educators.

Our banana tree has produced many delicious sweet tasting fruits. Every afternoon we have a selection of fruit for the children to eat on the way home. Our homegrown bananas are there for the taking on the front desk in the foyer all this week. Thank you to our children and educators 👩‍🏫!

About Us

Clontarf Sesame Lane opened in July 2004 in a redeveloped shopping centre. Our Service is adjacent to a quiet lane and park in beautiful leafy Clontarf suburbia. The quiet location of our Service gives a harmonious feel when you first enter. Our Service playgrounds have lush gardens that face the park giving a green cool atmosphere for children to play and learn. Being environmentally responsible is a big part of our philosophy.

Inside, our rooms are well resourced and our lay outs encourage and support learning. Our Educators have a reputation in the community for their warm and engaging actions to promote Happy Healthy Learners. Our goal is to provide a safe, caring and educational environment to realise each children’s best potential.

We have great respect for every family and know that children open up to learning when we have a sound relationship and partnership with families. Our families are central to our curriculum and are invited and encouraged to involve themselves in our Service in all facets. We have an open door policy that encourages families to stay and play as well as organised days on our calendar where families are invited to special shows and family days.

Children have the opportunity to participate and actively engaged in several programmes; our Japanese language with Senesi Ryo who incorporates our Japanese Language Programme through art , songs, language, cooking and craft plus our Music and Drama Program instilling a love of music, movement and singing.
