With over 25 years playing and studying guitar, Matthew Barnes is a passionate performer, composer, and teacher in equal measure. Drawing on a wide variety of musical influences, his goal is to redefine how music is taught and understood in the 21st century. Matt is acquainted with a number of instruments but his main focus is

the guitar family (incl. Music theory is also an area of deep interest for Matt and he has plans for further Masters study in that field. Matt is a committed life-long learner and his favourite aspect of teaching is the shared process of discovery; with the teacher often learning just as much as the student.
