What a fun-filled day! The children loved taking part in our Sports Day, including a loose parts obstacle course, running races, and egg and spoon races.

They showed fantastic teamwork, turn-taking, and encouragement of their friends while building their gross motor skills.

Thank you to everyone who dressed up in their favourite sports team , it made the day extra special! 🎽

Lots of fun, laughter, and smiles all around! 😄

Grace Lutheran Early Learning Centre will be closed over the Easter long weekend, from Friday, 3rd April to Monday, 6th April.

Today our Kindy children had a very special visit from the wonderful team at Bravehearts.

Through storytelling, music, and interactive activities, the children learned important personal safety messages in a fun, age-appropriate way. Ditto the friendly mascot helped guide the children in understanding how to recognise safe and unsafe situations, the importance of speaking up, and identifying trusted adults in their lives.

At our centre, we are committed to supporting children’s wellbeing and empowering them with the knowledge and confidence to keep themselves safe. We are so grateful to Bravehearts for delivering such a meaningful and memorable experience for our Kindy group.

🚒 Exciting Visit from Our Local Fire Department! 🔥

Today we were lucky to welcome our local Fire Department to the service! The children had a fantastic time learning all about the important work firefighters do in our community.

We discovered that their role goes far beyond fighting fires, they also help in a range of emergencies and work hard to keep everyone safe. The children were especially interested in the equipment and learning about how firefighters help people every day.

We also spoke about the importance of practicing our fire drills here at the service, helping children understand what to do and how to stay safe in an emergency.

A big thank you to our wonderful firefighters for taking the time to visit us and share their knowledge. It was such a valuable and exciting experience for everyone.

At Grace ELC, Child Safety Always Comes First

With recent updates across the early childhood sector, we’ve made an important change: we will no longer post identifiable photos of children on our public social media pages.

For us, this is about more than just policy, it’s about protecting children. We will continue sharing the wonderful learning happening in our centre, but in ways that safeguard every child’s identity and privacy.

We asked our team why this change is so important, and we wanted to share their thoughts on the significance of child safety and our “why” behind this update.

This is an important step to put child safety first, and we are proud to make it a part of everything we do at Grace ELC.

If you would like your child to participate, please make sure you submit your consent form as soon as possible, it’s not too late!

This is a wonderful opportunity for a convenient dental check-up right here at the centre.

🌿 A Big Thank You to Bunnings! 🌿

At the start of October, we had some very special visitors from Bunnings Hardware who came to help us install our brand-new garden bed! 🪴

The Bunnings team worked side by side with our children — measuring, building, filling the bed with soil and mulch, and finally planting a beautiful mix of vegetables, flowers, and even some adorable garden ornaments. 🌼🥕🫛🐞

It was a hands-on learning experience full of teamwork, excitement, and very muddy hands — just the way we like it!

A huge thank you to the Bunnings staff for their time, generosity, and for helping us grow not just a garden, but a sense of pride and responsibility in our little learners. ❤️

We can’t wait to watch our garden grow — stay tuned for updates!

From a simple idea sparked by the children’s love of stories, our cardboard library has grown into something truly special. With bright paint, teamwork, and plenty of creativity, the children named it the “Grace ELC Community Library”—a space to share and enjoy books together. Now, a month later, with the support of our maintenance team, staff, and their families, our vision has become reality. Our Community Library is officially open and ready to go! We would love donations of children’s books to help keep it full and inspiring for all.📚

Book Week is coming up in Week 6! 📚 There’s still plenty of time to start planning your child’s costume for our much-loved Character Dress Up Parade on Wednesday 20th August. ✨ We can’t wait to see our favourite book characters come to life!
