It began as a day nursery for working women. By 1911, C&K was operating four services in Brisbane and had established the Kindergarten Teachers College to provide training for staff. The college grew and evolved to become the Queensland University of Technology School of Early Childhood Education. With more than 105 years of practical experience, early childhood education development and proven po
sitive outcomes for children makes C&K the leader in the early childhood sector in Queensland. C&K is a community based early childhood association with almost 400 early childhood education and care services including kindergarten (pre-prep), childcare, family day care, limited hours care and a network of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander programs across Queensland, from metropolitan to regional and remote towns. C&K has established a proud tradition of advocating for children and providing a range of high quality services that reflect contemporary national and international early childhood research. This is demonstrated through the Queensland Studies Authority approved early childhood curriculum, C&K Building waterfalls. An extensive early childhood knowledge base, collaboration by educators and contribution from families, and most importantly, children, assisted in the development of the C&K Building waterfalls second edition. The qualified and dedicated early childhood educators all contribute towards the C&K vision of a childhood fulfilled. C&K only employs four year early childhood university qualified teachers/directors at a C&K service. This ensures the best results are achieved while meeting both Queensland and Federal government requirements. The ongoing advocacy role C&K plays in local and state issues for early childhood ensures children are always placed first. C&K policies ensuring your child’s wellbeing and safety.
