Lone Eagle Flying School caters for everyone wanting the challenge of learning to fly or just to enjoy an air experience flight over the Darling Downs.

CASA have now introduced RPL(Recognition of Prior Learning) from RA-AUS to GA flying, with this introduction you can start you're training with us and save yourself thousands of dollars. To gain a pilot certificate with RA-AUS it is around $6,000 and with GA around $13,000. This saving is just the beginning, we have had scholarship students from our school now flying commercially for work and even

first Officers with Virgin Australia. Many of our club members have also converted over to become GA pilots, our CFI has over 50yrs of flying experience so the training is of first class.

CLIFTON AIRFIELD CLOSED THIS WEEKEND:
The airfield will be closed this weekend from first light Saturday 8th August until about 3pm Sunday 9th August, due to the Scouts Operation Nighthawk.

This weekend we are hosting the Scouts for their Operation Nighthawk, an overnight navigation hike with activities. This is one of the largest Scouting youth activities in Queensland with around 1200 scouts plus adult leaders and supporters attending. We last hosted the Scouts in 2019. The Darling Downs Sport Aircraft Association Inc. Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held on Saturday 29th August 2026 at the Janet Bange Memorial Hangar, 549 Clifton-Leyburn Road, Clifton at 11.15am.

WHAT A CHAMPION!
Club members who have popped into LEFS recently will have seen the progress that Aaron has made on the Champion. Aaron had his first flight in the Champion on Friday June 19. A very exciting time, after a lot of effort and commitment. It has now done 2.2 hours.

MEETING THIS SATURDAY:
The next ordinary general meeting of the DDSAA/LEFS will be held on Saturday June 27th at 10.30 in the Clubhouse at the Clifton airfield.

The meeting will be followed by our usual superior BBQ lunch. I hope to see as many of you as possible there.

There will be no general meeting at the end of July.
