Well, here’s your chance to nail it.
The team from Infinit Nutrition are joining us for the second session in our Nutrition Mastery Series – FUEL THE WORK.
We’ll be talking training and race-day fuelling, personalised strategies, managing gut issues and how to put it all together when it matters. Plus, there’ll be samples, freebies and member discounts 🙌

We’re just about at spring and the weather has already started to change for the best - Noosa is only 9 weeks away so come along and join the NTC Saturday Group Ride.
This week we’re heading down the coast for the Twin Waters loop - the Medium group will turn at Marcoola while the Lantern Rouge ride will follow the same route turning earlier.
Roll out at 6am with the Rouge 5 mins later, from Lions Park Noosa Heads

AND WE’RE BACK. 🚴💨
Time to channel your inner Marlen Reusser and put down maximum watts for as long as you can hold them.
Yes, CdA matters. But so does keeping your head up for dogs, turkeys (physical AND figurative), cars, other riders and trail runners wondering where on earth they’ve landed now the bridge is in.
📅 Thursday 27 August
⏰ 5:45am
📍 Eumarella
🔥 7 laps - $10 to the coach
With Nick unfortunately keeping an accurate count of every single one of them while yelling encouragement… or quietly shaking his head. Both are motivating.
Time to dust off the TT bike, charge your lights and find that pointy helmet.
Yes, the lampshade ones are probably quicker, but they just don’t have the same kerb appeal.
Lads, a small warning: the ladies have been training all winter. If one comes past you, take it with pride. Resist the urge to immediately hit a 1000W PB to get back past her, only to blow spectacularly three minutes later. We believe in you. 😂
🚀 Rocket Brinkworth is out for this one — but don’t get too comfortable. She’ll be back and Joslin is in… could we tempt Selsmark out of retirement for a comeback??
And remember…
It’s not a race. But we’ll know. 👀
Not quite ready to embrace seven laps of aerodynamic suffering? Honestly, who is?
Come along to our Club Cycle Skills Session instead:
📅 Sunday 27 September
⏰ 7:00am
📍 Eumarella
Build your skills, confidence and bike handling — then you too can worry about CdA, lampshade helmets and being overtaken by Rocket Brinkworth.
All welcome. 💙🚴

Some races are about far more than the finish line. ❤️
This September, Noosa Tri Club member Dr Michael Besser will stand on the start line of IRONMAN 70.3 Sunshine Coast.
And he’ll do it at 80 years old.
Michael is racing in memory of his friend and colleague, Professor Richard Scolyer, who died from brain cancer in June, and to raise funds for Brain Cancer Australia.
Michael first met Richard in the 1990s , where Michael remembers a young doctor who was thoughtful, humble and quietly determined. Richard would go on to become a world-leading pathologist, helping transform melanoma treatment and improve outcomes for patients around the world.
When Richard was diagnosed with brain cancer in 2023, he brought that same determination to his own illness — continuing to advocate for research and, when he was able, continuing his love of endurance sport and triathlon.
It inspired Michael to do something pretty extraordinary himself.
Michael is no stranger to endurance sport. A retired neurosurgeon, Chair of Brain Cancer Australia and long-time triathlete, he has represented Australia, completed 10 Ironman events and raced the Ironman World Championship in Kona at the age of 72.
But he says this race may be his toughest yet.
The eight-hour cut-off will be a challenge. Michael knows that.
In a letter published after his death, Richard wrote that he hoped he would be remembered as someone who “gave it a crack.”
Michael says:
“That’s exactly what I’m planning to do.”
Michael, we reckon this represents so much of what our sport — and our club — is about.
Friendship. Purpose. Courage. Showing up. And continuing to give things a crack, regardless of the number on your birthday cake.  We’ll be incredibly proud to see you on that start line.
And we suspect there will be quite a few Noosa Tri Club voices out on course making sure you know it.
If you’d like to support Michael his fundraising link is below

Go well, Michael. We’re all behind you.

🚨 HOLY COW… IT’S ONLY 70 DAYS UNTIL NOOSA TRI! 🚨
Yep, it’s nearly September — which means it might be time to move from “I’ll start next week” to “righto… probably should get onto this.” 😂
The good news? We’ve got you.
There are plenty of fabulous skills sessions, training opportunities and club events coming your way over the next couple of months to help you get Noosa-ready — whether you’re chasing a PB, tackling your first Noosa Tri, or simply planning to make it to the finish line with a smile. 🏊‍♀️🚴‍♂️🏃‍♀️
And we want to know — what’s on YOUR calendar for September?
Racing somewhere? Trying something new? Big training day? Random adventure?
Tell us below so we can either:
🙌 join you
😩 have serious FOMO
📣 or cheer ridiculously loudly from afar.
Consider this your sign from the universe: it’s time. 😜
And while you’re filling that calendar… check out the Club Champs. A cracking opportunity for some racing, plenty of laughs and the very important business of quietly trying to beat all the other QLD clubs. 😇😂

Saturdays NTC group ride kicks off at 6am from Lions Park Noosa Heads.
We have a few senior members and coaches away this week so the longer ride will be self guided, the standard medium distance bunch will be heading out McKinnon Drive with Nick at the helm and doing the Lake Flat route while the Lantern Rouge ride will do a shorter ride along the same route, leaving a few minutes behind. Hope you can make it and if you’re looking to do something a little longer then there’s a good chance you’ll find some others to join in so come down a little early and have a chat!
Bring on the weekend 🙌🙌

Some athletes inspire us with one standout performance. Others inspire us through years of showing up. Meet Ken Rae. 💙💛🖤♥️
At 74 years young, Ken is once again preparing to race at the IRONMAN World Championship in Kona—an achievement that never gets old.
Ken came to triathlon later than many. His journey began with a Queensland Tri Series sprint race back in 2009, and, as they say... it escalated quickly!
The dream of racing in Kona first took hold after completing his first Busselton Ironman, and he’s since turned that dream into reality many times over. Along the way, he’s earned multiple qualifications for both the IRONMAN and IRONMAN 70.3 World Championships.
One of Ken’s proudest memories was racing Kona alongside his son in 2018. This year, he’ll create another special family moment by racing the Noosa Triathlon with his son and daughter and two of his grandchildren.
Despite his incredible results, Ken remains one of our club’s quiet achievers—always happy to share a laugh, encourage others and support the Noosa Tri Club community.
Ken reminds us that success in triathlon isn’t about when you start—it’s about consistency, passion and simply never losing the love of the sport.
Good luck in Kona, Ken. We’ll all be cheering you on! 🌺🏊🚴🏃
