Middle ear fossil provides evolutionary link 👂🐱🐉: Professor Patricia Vickers-Rich from Monash Earth, Atmosphere and Environment has contributed to an international study investigating Jurrassic era fossils in Nature, which has uncovered evidence of transitional phases in the evolution of the mammalian middle ear.
These findings have enabled greater understanding of mammalian evolution and refute previous preconceptions of the original state of the mammalian middle ear.
