Welcome to Monash University’s Google Developer Student Club! Monash GDSC is an inclusive community to connect with others from all disciplines. We host a variety of technical workshops and speaker sessions for students to learn more about the latest developer technologies. From Uni Grad to Cloud Architect ☁️

Thank you to everyone who attended this session! It was great to see so many of you show up to learn more about building a career in Cloud & AI.

Our guest speaker, Derrick Qin, spoke about how AI is transforming software development, with much of today’s work requiring little to no code, and demonstrated this firsthand by building a website/web app from scratch using AI tools.

Imagine generating stunning AI images from text prompts, all powered by Kubernetes, accelerated by GPUs, and designed with the help of Gemini. 🚀✨

In this talk and live demo, we’re building a full AI Image Generator using Stable Diffusion XL on GKE. 🤖 See firsthand how Gemini supercharges productivity by assisting with Python, Docker, Streamlit, and YAML deployments. 🛠️💻

During the session, we’ll dive into scaling Stable Diffusion for real-time generation and explore how Gemini accelerates the entire dev-to-deployment lifecycle. ⚡ You’ll gain deep insights into GPU scheduling, autoscaling, and container management, all capped off with a live demo where we'll watch a “Kubestronaut riding a dragon” render in seconds! 🐉👨‍🚀
