Welcome back to term 4! We have some wonderful experiences ready to kick off the last term of 2023 ⭐️

It’s been a while between updates for Westall, but we have a very exciting reason to share again. This year Westall Kindergarten underwent Assessment and Rating. This is a process that assesses the kinder against 7 areas in the National Quality Standards. A rating of Exceeding means that the service is performing above and beyond the requirements of the NQS.

Westall rated exceeding in all 7 areas and we couldn’t be prouder!

This is all down to the incredible families and community we have at the Hub and our local community. It is such a special place, and we are thrilled that our Kinder continues to grow and thrive with everyone’s support.

A big thank you to the teachers who work tirelessly to provide the best care and education for our children. It is a testament to you that Westall Kinder has received this recognition. Thank you 💙

Westall Kindergarten was very fortunate to partner with Our Place and Monash University for the Voice of the Children project, which captures the perspectives and insights of young children, aged four
to six years old. This is a unique look into the experiences, hopes, dreams and aspirations of the children at Westall, and we're so proud of the results!

Westall Kindergarten was so fortunate to be successful for a Children's Week grant through the City of Kingston this year. For this, we were able to invite Auntie Karan to Westall Kindergarten to run an introductory workshop into Aboriginal history and culture. We began with an Acknowledgment to Country - we are so proud to be walking on Bunurong land, and sharing our many cultures to help care for and respect the world around us. We learnt a lot about Aboriginal culture and how we can embed this into our daily lives. We can't thank Auntie Karan and the City of Kingston enough for allowing us to bring this fantastic experience to the children at Westall Kindergarten!

We were incredibly fortunate to have Wild Action zoo at Westall Kider this week, sharing some amazing Australian animals with the 3 and 4 year old kinder groups. This offered a unique opportunity for the children to learn about native Australian animals, and ways we can interact with them respectfully and take care of our environment.

What a fabulous evening the Westall Kindergarten community had today, celebrating the Winter Solstice with a fire, toasted marshmallows and hot chocolate 🔥
A beautiful time to gather with old friends and new, and a new experience for lots of our kinder children!

This week I joined local MP Meng Heang Tak and City of Kingston Mayor Steve Staikos to see the wonderful work going on at Westall Kindergarten.

This great facility adopts the Our Place model with everything families and the community need in a single location, including the local school next door.

It's clear that Westall kindergarten offers a welcoming and inclusive environment for children from all different backgrounds, languages, cultures and experiences, helping our kids achieve the very best outcomes.
