Euclidean division algorithm to find the highest common factor

Here is an example where Euclidean algorithm is used to find the highest common factor between 126 and 56.

Step 1: Find the quotient when 126 is divided by 56, which is 2
Step 2: Calculate 126 - 2 X 56 which equals 14

Repeat Step 1 with 56 and 14 until 0 is reached
Step 3: Find the quotient when 56 is divided by 14, which is 3
Step 4: Calculate 56 - 3 X 14 which equals 14

Repeat Step 1 with 14 and 14 until 0 is reached
Step 5: Find the quotient when 14 is divided by 14, which is 1
Step 6: Calculate 14 - 1 X 14 which equals 0

Highest common factor between 128 and 56 is 14.
