Our students finished the term on a high at Friday’s Athletics Carnival at the UQ Sports Athletics Centre.

From the first event to the final relay, students gave their all on the track and in the field, showcasing determination, teamwork and outstanding House spirit. The cheers from the grandstands were just as impressive as the performances, creating an electric atmosphere throughout the day.

A special congratulations to Nagle House for their historic win - crowned Athletics Carnival champions for the first time in 20 years 💚

What a fantastic celebration of sport, participation and House pride to close out the term! 🏃‍♀️🏅🎉

More photos to come.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Grandparents and Special Friends Morning Tea last Thursday.

It was a true joy to welcome our families to the College, with some guests travelling significant distances to celebrate with us.

The morning featured a wonderful choir performance and three line dancing showcases from our Year 5 classes, alongside board games and drawing activities that gave guests and students time to connect and create together.

We extend our sincere thanks to our Gold Sponsor, Gardner Vaughan, for their generous support of this event, including a photobooth that allowed our guests to take home their own special photos.

It was a morning filled with joy, connection, and celebration. Thank you to all who attended!

The College hosted its annual Careers Day on Wednesday 17 June, bringing together students and industry professionals for an inspiring day of exploration and learning. Featuring an incredible 68 sessions across the College, the day provided students with valuable opportunities to discover future pathways, gain industry insights and connect with professionals from a wide range of fields.

The day commenced with an engaging panel discussion centred on the theme “Balance the Scales.” Our panelists shared diverse perspectives on navigating professional success while maintaining fulfilment and wellbeing.

Following the panel, students attended a range of industry-led sessions across the campus. These presentations offered valuable insight into different career pathways, the realities of various industries, and the skills needed to succeed in an ever-evolving workforce.

A heartfelt thank you to our panelists and presenters for sharing their time, knowledge and experiences with our community. Through their generosity, our students were encouraged to think boldly about their futures and take the next steps towards becoming Women of Action.

After 20 wonderful years, we are farewelling a true St Rita's treasure tomorrow.

Jennifer Snaith has been our much-loved Design and Technologies teacher, giving two decades of dedication to our students and friendship to so many staff across the College.

This morning, students from Years 5 to 10 lined up from Orana all the way back to her home room to form a Guard of Honour for her final home group as a teacher.

Thank you, Jennifer, for everything you have given to St Rita's, and we wish you a very happy and well-deserved retirement!

Rain, hail or shine, our incredible St Rita’s community came together for another unforgettable Rita’s Longest Lunch - and what a celebration it was. 🥂✨

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us, filled the room with energy and laughter, and helped support our Music Program. Your generosity continues to create meaningful opportunities for our students to learn, perform and flourish through music.

Guests enjoyed a wonderful afternoon of long-table dining, great company and live music from Last Summer, creating the perfect soundtrack to a truly special event.

A special thank you to our valued event supporters, Tassis Group for generously donating Ariane Vodka drinks to the bar and raffle, and Place Ascot for keeping everyone hydrated throughout the day. Your support helped create an afternoon that was equal parts celebration and community.

Two wonderful evenings of music recently brought our College community together as students took to the stage for the 2026 Strings and Bands Concerts.

Our Strings Concert showcased the versatility and artistry of our string musicians, with performances from String Sinfonia, Prelude Strings, String Ensemble, Symphony Orchestra, Guitar Ensemble and String Quartet 1. From the dramatic sounds of Carmen and The Phantom of the Opera to contemporary favourites including A Million Dreams, Pink Pony Club and the Bridgerton Theme, the evening highlighted the breadth of repertoire explored by our ensembles and the confidence with which students brought each piece to life.

The Bands Concert followed with an exciting program from Jazz Ensemble, Big Band, Prelude Winds, Concert Band and Wind Ensemble. Audiences enjoyed everything from jazz classics such as Autumn Leaves and I Got You (I Feel Good) to music from The Hunger Games and a collection of contemporary wind band works. Featuring impressive solo moments, vibrant ensemble playing and a wide range of musical styles, the concert was a fitting celebration of the hard work and commitment our musicians have shown throughout the year.
