Dowerin, it was great to see you! 🌾🚜

What a fantastic few days connecting with families and community members at the Dowerin Field Days last week.

From conversations about boarding and life at MLC to cheering on our talented music students in the Battle of the Bands, the event was a wonderful opportunity to strengthen the ties between MLC and regional WA.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our stand, shared their stories and supported our performers. We loved being part of such a vibrant event and look forward to returning next year 💚

At MLC, we recognise that every athlete’s journey is different. That’s why our High-Performance Sporting Pathway is designed to help students as their sporting aspirations grow, enabling them to balance their commitment to sport with academic success and wellbeing.

The pathway includes the newly launched Emerging Athlete Program, alongside our established High-Performance Sports Prizes, creating opportunities for aspiring and elite athletes at different stages of their development.

We're delighted to welcome eight Year 8 students from Pymble Ladies' College to MLC this week as part of our Interstate Exchange Program.

Over the coming days, our visitors will experience life at MLC, exploring our campus, joining classes and connecting with students through this unique opportunity to learn, share and grow together.

Next week, eight MLC students will travel to Sydney to attend Pymble Ladies' College, continuing a long-standing exchange that fosters new perspectives, meaningful connections and unforgettable experiences.

📖✨ A Week Worth Reading About! ✨📖

This Book Week, our MLC Community came together to celebrate the power of stories through this year's theme, 'Symphony of Stories'.

From colourful costumes and beloved literary characters to engaging activities and shared reading experiences, students embraced the joy of storytelling and discovered new worlds through books 📚

Throughout the week, the MLC Library, classrooms and learning spaces were filled with imagination, curiosity and creativity as students explored the many ways stories can inspire, connect and enrich our lives.

A heartfelt thank you to our incredible Library and Information Services team for bringing Book Week to life and creating so many memorable experiences for our students 💜🌟

Don't miss this special evening celebrating the creativity, talent and achievements of our graduating Music and Creative Arts students.

For many of our Year 12s, this will be one of the final opportunities to share their work and perform for the MLC Community before graduation. From live music performances to creative works developed throughout their final year, the showcase is a chance to recognise their dedication, growth and accomplishments.

✨ Good luck to our IGSSA Dance team! ✨

Tomorrow night, our talented dancers take to the stage for the IGSSA Dance Festival, showcasing the hard work, creativity and teamwork that have gone into their performances.

Dance is a thriving part of life at MLC, with students able to pursue their passion through a range of opportunities, including IGSSA Dance, Dance Theatre and co-curricular dance programs.

🎶 Music, play and community at MLC! 🎶

Don't miss our final Play Days session this term, featuring a special 'Music with Mrs Davey' playgroup experience. Sing, move, explore instruments and share in a joyful morning of songs, movement and musical discovery 💜

Designed for families with children aged six months to two years, Play Days is a wonderful opportunity to make new friends, connect with other local families and experience our nurturing Early Learning community. Each session is guided by a member of our MLC Early Learning team, with parents supervising their children throughout.

From Claremont to the Nation's Biggest Cross Country Course 💜🏃‍♀️

Nine MLC athletes have gone the distance, earning selection in the Western Australian team for the Australian Cross Country Championships in Ballarat over the mid-term break.

Congratulations to Julia (Year 7), Billie (Year 8), Matilda (Year 9), Quinn, Fiona, Hope, Meg, Grace (all Year 10) and Mia (Year 11) on this outstanding achievement.

Selection at state level is no small feat. It reflects countless kilometres of training, early mornings, determination and a commitment to continually pushing personal limits.

At the championships, the girls delivered a number of impressive performances, including a bronze medal in the U17 State Teams' Event 🏅

We are incredibly proud of the dedication, resilience and competitive spirit these students have shown throughout their cross country journey, and of the way they represented MLC and WA among the country's best young runners 🌟
