Yesterday the Year 5/6 class headed off to Port Vincent for camp. They had a great first day with some exciting experiences, kneeboarding and sailing, different games, round robin cricket and much more. These wonderful students are cooking and making all their own food and they are definitely wonderful cooks! Two more days to enjoy the sun, sand and sea. What a wonderful way to start term 4!

Over the last two weeks the year 2/3/4 students have been involved in a maths investigation called “It’s On The Cards”. This investigation required them to learn about time. They then had to list some daily activities they do and the times they occur. With the daily activities they created their own card games in which they also had to come up with rules to suit their games. Each daily activity had four cards to match it, the activity written, digital time, analog time and the time in written words. Each student assessed their game and also received peer feedback. Well done students on a great investigation 😊

Class collaboration for some Science experiments. Years 2-6 joined together this week to create their own seismographs and stimulated earthquakes. All students thoroughly enjoyed this activity and the chance to work with friends from different year levels. How wonderful it is that our students can work together to explore, inquire and wonder. This activity encouraged students to think deeper, share their curiosities and build on team work. Well done to our wonderful students 😊

This week the 2/3/4 class got into some science experiments looking at mixtures and how solids, liquids and powders can be mixed together for different purposes.
The 5/6 class did some more cooking this week, cooking up lasagne to take home. Doesn’t it look delicious?! They also worked with the F/1 class and assisted them with their learning, some wonderful interactions and conversations were had.
The F/1 class hopped on the bus and headed to the Clare Valley Children’s Centre to engage in some activities, wholesome interactions and making new friends. It was a very enjoyable visit to CVCC and the students can’t wait to go back.
The week finished off with cross country. Students have been training for this event and what courage, persistence, determination and mate-ship they all displayed. Thank you to all who came and supported the event.
Well done to our wonderful students on a big, busy and exciting week.
