CRAFT ON THE GO 🧶 Having a portable craft means you can craft almost anywhere!

When I became a parent there was crocheting while stuck in the car with a sleeping baby. When I became a school parent I found I had small pockets of time to craft while extra curricular activities were happening. A moment to yourself, using time productively, making with your hands and not doom scrolling on your phone!

I still kick myself when I forget to pack a craft project when I’m stuck sitting in a medical waiting room.

FATHER’S DAY IDEA 🎁 Invite Dad to our Wood Burning Cheeseboard Workshop with Maria ! A fun, beginner-friendly activity with a satisfying result. Go home with your own wooden cheeseboard with your unique design on it.

Attend the workshop together or come along to wood burn a cheeseboard for Dad - the perfect personalised gift! We even have a workshop on the day before Father’s Day!

Everything is supplied including handpicked blank wood cheeseboards with pre-drilled holes for metal handles. There are lots of stencils to choose from if you’re stuck for an idea, or you can sketch your own design.

LET’S TIDY SOME FABRIC! ✂️ Here’s a fabric storage solution that puts your pretty fabrics on display! It could work in boxes or on shelves.

From our classes we salvage as many fabric scraps as possible. To recycle and turn into something else! Our weekly school-aged students are amazing at upcycling fabric scraps.

Wrapping cut fabrics that are less than 1 metre or cut in weird shapes on a piece of cardboard keeps them organised. Instead of rummaging through scrunched up pieces, they are all on display.

We do remind the students to pick with their eyes before pulling them out! Maybe check in with me in a few months 😆

WE’RE 14 TODAY 🎉 Thank you to everyone that joined us for our 14th birthday celebration on Saturday! A day to welcome you into our workshop with free classes thanks to Catherine for teaching the sewing classes and Maria from Maria Polymeris for running the wood burning classes.

It was the best day! Thank you for supporting the Sew Make Create Workshop for 14 years, coming for classes, telling your friends or just dropping by to say hello.

BEYOND BEGINNERS CROCHET 🧶 Our Crochet Workshop - Part 2 is designed for crocheters that are beginner-level and up. If you already crochet but want to know more, join Amanda of Amanda Jackson to learn more stitches and crochet techniques.

What is covered in this class:
🧶 Continue to learn these basic crochet stitches (US term): single crochet (sc), half double crochet (hdc), Magic ring cast-on
🧶 Explained the difference between a Yarn over (yo)/ yarn under (yu) and when they are commonly used
🧶 Join edges together
🧶 Practice stitching in rows
🧶 Weaving in ends
🧶 Turn a crochet square into a wallet

Bring along some crochet squares to join and there will be time in class to ask questions or get help with a crochet project you have.

Due to limited spots per class, we pick tickets randomly so everyone gets a chance to win a ticket. Register for a FREE Sewing Social (BYO Project) Workshops with Catherine. All workshops are suitable for complete beginners aged 16 yrs and up.

Please note a registration is not a confirmed ticket. We will email you on Tuesday 28th July if you are successful in getting a ticket.

How can you score a free ticket?
