RADICAL RANTS ARE BACK!
Join us this week to talk about how the Heard trial reflects the cultural moment of celebrity worship, right wing media manipulation and misogyny. Like all of our Radical Rants we encourage anyone with differing opinions to join, it’s a space for all of us to learn together :))

Join us tomorrow at 5pm for our meeting and the rant will be right after (around 5:45). Dm us for the zoom link or check out the Facebook event! See you there!!!

ACTION.NOT.FRUIT. - REFORM RESPECT.NOW.ALWAYS!

Respect.Now.Always (RNA) refuses to listen to students who are left vulnerable by their pursuit of fruit puns instead of material support. In response to WoCo’s request to translate consent materials for international students we were told: “International students come here to learn English” and that “We already have green tea and black sesame ice cream.” Asian ice cream flavours do not protect international students who are the uni demographic most vulnerable to sexual violence!

Women’s Collective will be protesting 15TH FEBRUARY @ 1PM IN FRONT OF UTS TOWER.

Hey! We’ve noticed a bunch of new people interacting with our page

10/07/2021

Here is how the Dean of FASS responded to our email outlining the concerns of FASS students.

To this we say, if your only response to our demands and continued action over the past 9 months is pointing out how bad we are at maths, this clearly demonstrates how little ground management has to stand on. Maybe if you stopped being complicit, enthusiastic even, in gutting our education and attacking teachers, we might be able to do mathematics better. Perhaps we got our ratios mixed up, but atleast we aren’t robbing staff of their livelihoods.

You are quite right, the actual ratio, which was one security guard per two students, is much fairer and more reasonable. Your apparent anger at our mathematic error begs the question if it was you who called security on student leafletters, mostly FASS students, trying to talk to their tutors and hear how their education would be affected by the $3.2 million in cuts you had announced?

Given your total lack of maturity and deflecting, it is clear to the EAG (a group that actually has put meaningful effort into communicating the demands of real students) that further conversations with you are redundant. We hope you’re proud of yourself for defending heinous attacks on our education by bullying students.
