At Bridge & Beyond, every story matters 💙

Over the past few months, we’ve seen incredible growth, resilience, and determination from the young people involved in the program. From building confidence and learning new skills to exploring career pathways and making meaningful connections, each journey has been inspiring to witness.

Hearing directly from participants, mentors, and supporters reminds us why programs like Bridge & Beyond are so important for our community.

On Wednesday Bev, Sophie, and the Bridge and Beyond participants hit the road for an exciting visit to CS Energy Kogan Creek Power Station.

We were lucky enough to receive a guided tour of the site - even venturing 30+ metres above ground - while learning about the wide range of opportunities available within the energy industry. After the tour, we enjoyed lunch together, followed by some engaging team building activities. The day wrapped up with a valuable session from an apprenticeship trainer, who shared insights into application and interview processes.

Lunch for the day was supplied with the help of Drakes Supermarkets, with additional donated items generously provided by the team - something we greatly appreciated.

The participants along with the Chinchilla Community Commerce and Industry Inc - CCCI team, had an incredible experience. A big thank you to Britt and the entire CS Energy team for hosting such a fantasic and memorable day.

📣 Expressions of Interest Now Open – Bridge & Beyond Intake 2!

We’re excited to announce that our next Bridge & Beyond intake kicks off on June 17th — and we’re now taking expressions of interest!

This State funded program is designed to support young people in building skills, gaining qualifications, and creating pathways into employment and further training. From hands-on experiences to nationally recognised certifications, participants are supported every step of the way.

To be eligible, participants must:
✔️ Be aged between 15yrs - 21yrs
✔️ Not currently be employed, studying, or enrolled in school
✔️ Be motivated to learn and commit to the program
✔️ Be able to attend scheduled training and activities
✔️ Have a genuine interest in employment or further education pathways

Spots are limited, so don’t miss your chance to be part of something that can shape your future.

Big things are happening behind the scenes 👏

Our participants have been busy building their skills and ticking off some major milestones:

✔️ 1 participant has completed Working at Heights & Confined Spaces
✔️ 2 are currently completing their White Cards
✔️ 1 is undertaking their RSA
✔️ 2 are engaged in a STEM course with Origin
✔️ Everyone is completing First Aid & CPR training
✔️ 1 participant has completed a licence transfer & renewal
✔️ 1 has secured their ID

And we’re not slowing down anytime soon — driving lessons are coming up next 🚗

It’s incredible to see the progress, commitment, and confidence growing in each of our participants as they take steps toward their future careers.

Our manager and one of our first intake participants had the opportunity to speak about the impact of the program, sharing firsthand how it is supporting individuals to build confidence, develop skills, and create meaningful pathways into employment and further opportunities.

We were lucky enough to have Origin Energy come out and spend the day with our Bridge and Beyond participants! 🙌

During the session, participants teamed up in pairs to design and build water filters — learning practical skills while making a real difference.

These filters will be sent to refugee camps in North Uganda in South Sudan, providing access to cleaner, safer water for those who need it most.

Today marked the very first day of our Bridge and Beyond Program, and what an incredible start it was!

We were so proud to welcome our first group of participants and kick things off with such positive energy, connection, and opportunity.

A huge thank you to all the amazing local businesses who took the time to attend, share their knowledge, and speak with our participants. Your support, insight, and encouragement truly made a difference and helped set the tone for what this program is all about.

We’re so excited to see where this journey takes everyone involved – this is just the beginning!
