A little colour is coming to the front garden of The Barn! 🎨🌿

The Barn Kids Art Club finished off term 3 with a collaborative project - working together to paint tyres for our garden. Every child added their own colours, marks and ideas, and I love how their contributions have come together.

The tyres will become planters in our front garden. I’ll show you how they look once they’re planted—but first, what would you put in them? 🌸

The Barn is heading to York Festival! 🎨🌿

I’m very excited to share the collection of workshops I’ll be bringing to York Festival 2026 this October.

There’s a lovely mix of creative sessions for both adults and kids — from mixed media, art journalling and painting to nature sculpture and a very special vintage cheeseboard workshop.

If you’ve been wanting to try something creative but keep telling yourself “I’m not artistic”, please don’t let that stop you. These workshops are all about experimenting, making, learning a few new techniques and enjoying the process. Beginners are very welcome.

🐉 From scrunched foil and tissue paper… to this magnificent, sparkly dragon!

Sophie created this fabulous creature in our Primary Homeschool Art Club today, building the form herself before adding layers of colour, pattern and—of course—a generous amount of sparkle. ✨

I love the personality in his little face, but Sophie’s proud smile made my day!

This is what our homeschool art sessions are all about: experimenting with different materials, solving creative problems and giving each child the freedom to make something completely their own.

I’m heading to the York Festival! 🎨

I’m very excited to be taking The Barn Creative Studio on the road to York this year, with a collection of creative workshops for both adults and kids.

I’ve been busy in the Barn finishing samples, playing with ideas and getting everything ready — and here’s a little peek at what’s coming. ❤️

Expect mixed media, art journaling, vintage-inspired creating, nature, paint, collage and plenty of permission to experiment and make something completely your own.

🎨 OPEN STUDIO THIS THURSDAY 🎨

Feel like giving yourself a few peaceful hours to create?

Open Studio is on again this Thursday at The Barn Creative Studio in Chidlow, and there’s still room for a few more lovely creative souls to join us.

Bring along a project you’ve been meaning to finish, start something new, experiment with different materials, or simply enjoy creating in the relaxed and welcoming atmosphere of The Barn.

No pressure. No experience needed. Just uninterrupted creative time, good company and plenty of inspiration.
