National Simultaneous Storytime 2026

On Monday 1 June, students from Kindergarten to Year 6 at Salamah College participated in National Simultaneous Storytime 2026.

Students enjoyed an online reading of Luna Roo: The Kangaroo Baller, written by Adam Jackson and Adrian Lloyd, and illustrated by Jake Minton.

The story was chosen for its inspiring message about perseverance, courage and believing in yourself. Through Luna Roo's journey, students explored the importance of facing challenges, overcoming setbacks and continuing to work towards their goals, even when things become difficult.

Following the reading, each grade participated in engaging teacher-led activities connected to the text. Students wrote book reviews, answered comprehension questions and completed creative artwork inspired by the story.

National Simultaneous Storytime continues to be a wonderful opportunity to foster a love of reading while bringing students together through the shared experience of storytelling.

Primary SRC Treetops Excursion

A day of adventure and leadership awaited the Salamah College Year 3 to 6 SRC students as they visited TreeTop Adventure Park on 1 June 2026, building teamwork skills and developing their leadership abilities along the way.

Throughout the day, students challenged themselves on a variety of high ropes courses, zip lines, and obstacle activities that encouraged cooperation, communication, and resilience.

The course ranged from average to difficulty levels providing students with the opportunity to step outside their comfort zones, support one another, and strengthen friendships while enjoying an exciting outdoor adventure.

After both courses were complete, students had the opportunity to pray and have lunch before heading back to school for the end of what was a truly memorable experience.
