The SRC and Student Executive are excited to invite students to Friday Flicks this Friday 28th August, to enjoy "Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle". Entry is only $10 which includes popcorn. There is also a sausage sizzle, light snacks, drinks and raffle tickets available on the night. Money raised will be donated to Warrah, supporting people with disability in our local community. Last week, Clive B in Year 8 excelled at the Sydney North Orienteering Carnival at St Ives Showground amongst 380 students from 24 primary and secondary schools. Clive came first against 45 boys in the Year 7/8 individual event, completing the 2.5km course in 15min 05 sec and winning by an amazing 3:31 mins. He then combined with two students from Carlingford HS in the Secondary Relay and won again. Congratulations Clive!

Our Grade Sport teams achieved fantastic results in their finals last week, with 12 of our 31 teams finishing as winners across basketball, soccer, frisbee, Oztag, netball and lawn bowls. Liam C in year 8 represented Australia in Sweden recently in Round 3 of the FIA Karting Academy, placing 2nd. Over the 3 round Championship he came 5th overall out of the 50 driver/countries represented. This was a very strong result and placed him as the top driver of those not permanently based in Europe. Congratulations Liam on an outstanding result!

This week over 700 Cherrybrook students competed in the Australian Mathematics Competition. Our best and brightest mathematicians put their problem-solving skills to the test, applying their reasoning skills to a wide range of questions. Students who perform exceptionally well are invited to participate in the Australian Mathematics Trust High Performance Program which goes above the High Distinction benchmark. Felic W has been a part of this program for the last couple of years and has already qualified for the 2026-2027 round due to his strong results in previous competitions.

Our CTHS SRC and Student Executive Team for 2026-2027 came together last Friday for a planning day. Team building, leadership skill development and future events and initiatives were eagerly discussed. We look forward to a fantastic year ahead led by our amazing students!
