Kintsugi the Japanese art of fixing broken pottery with gold or silver lacquer. This flaw is a unique part of the objects history which adds to its beauty. This is the philosophy on which Kintsugi Sex Counselling & Education was created. It is not counselling as you know it, it is more of a consultation with the goal to improve your sexual function and help you redefine pleasure, intimacy and connection post diagnosis and treatment.
Kintsugi Sex Counselling and Education specialises in working with individuals and their partners, living with chronic conditions and recovering from traumatic health events. Many aspects of life are affected by chronic conditions, for the most part a persons symptoms, morbidity and mortality are addressed in the puzzle of care. The missing puzzle piece in many cases are Quality of Life (QOL) aspects such as sexuality, sexual health and intimacy. Sexual health is an important aspect of QOL and is recognised as a human right which should not be forgotten in the care of the whole person.
Kintsugi Sex Education's goal is to improve communication strategies used by partcitioners to start the conversation with clients around sexuality, and pathways to care. In addition Kinstugi Sex Education works with Charity and professional organisations to raise sexual health literacy standards in target demographics such as chronic illness,, hormone health, womens health and sexuality.
