🌟 Celebrating Our 2026 NAPLAN Success 🌟

We are incredibly proud to share Cheltenham East Primary School’s outstanding 2026 NAPLAN results and the strong progress our students have made over the past four years.

Our Year 3 students achieved excellent results:

📚 92% achieved Strong or Exceeding in Reading—11 percentage points above similar schools and our network.

🔢 83% achieved Strong or Exceeding in Numeracy, with the cohort recording our highest Year 3 Numeracy mean score in four years.

✍️ 85% achieved Strong or Exceeding in Writing.

Our Year 5 results were equally impressive:

⭐ 94–96% achieved Strong or Exceeding across Reading, Writing and Numeracy.

📈 88% demonstrated high or medium growth from Year 3 to Year 5 in both Reading and Numeracy.

🏆 CEPS achieved results above similar schools in five of the six achievement measures.

These results reflect the commitment of our students, the expertise and dedication of our staff, and the wonderful support provided by our families. While NAPLAN is only one measure of student learning, the results demonstrate the positive impact of our consistent whole-school approach to teaching and learning.

Today we were proud to welcome Premier Jacinta Allan and the Member for Bentleigh, Nick Staikos, to Cheltenham East Primary School.

It was a wonderful opportunity to showcase the incredible culture, pride and sense of belonging that make our school community so special. We were also delighted to hear the Premier reaffirm the Victorian Government’s commitment to our exciting $10.6 million school rebuild.

During the visit, we celebrated the recent recognition of our school being named among the Top 100 Government State Primary Schools — a reflection of the hard work and dedication of our students, staff and families.

A special thank you to our School Council for their ongoing advocacy and support of our school.

Congratulations also to our School Captains, who led the assembly with exemplary leadership that was personally acknowledged by Premier Allan during her speech.

Last week, we celebrated the Capital Works announcement of $10.6m, and this week, we are incredibly proud to share that Cheltenham East Primary School has been recognised in the Herald Sun’s “Victoria’s Top 100 Public Primary Schools”, ranking 74th out of approximately 1,570 Victorian Government primary schools — placing CEPS in the top 5% statewide. 🌟

This achievement reflects the dedication, passion and hard work of our amazing staff, who continually strive for excellence for every child, every day.

What a way to finish up the term! Grade 5 exhibited their Town Builds to family and friends yesterday. The amazing designs included adaptations to survive some of the harshest Australian conditions - droughts, floods, bushfire and cyclones.
