Ever had one of those "What should I be doing with my child?" moments? You might already have the answer at home.

Earlier this year, every Goodstart family received a What & When for Families guide for each child. If it's been tucked away in a drawer since then, now might be the perfect time to pull it back out.

The guide is packed with simple, play-based activities that support your child's learning and development at home. Best of all, it's written in your child's voice, with ideas tailored to their age and developmental stage.

From singing songs with babies and playing peek-a-boo, to "I Spy" games, storytelling and treasure hunts with older children, the activities are designed to fit naturally into everyday moments you already share together.

We know learning doesn't only happen in the classroom. Those small moments at home can help build big communication, language and literacy skills.

Dental screening Incursion at Cheltenham!!!
Part of the science week, we have organised an incursion about the Dental screening check-up program with the “the smiles Dentacare”, that are free for all children. This program helped the children to get their teeth checked by Dental Nurses at our service with their parent consent. It is important to get children in the habit of looking after and brushing their teeth as soon as the first tooth comes through. All the parents were happy to join in this program. Also, the children learned about how to take care of their teeth and keep them healthy.

Science week learning exploration at Cheltenham!

As part of Science Week, the entire Centre has involved in exploring the science experiences from babies to kidergartenchildren for the whole week.
The children were actively engaged in various science experiences such as floating/sinking, cloud making, planting /life cycle, seed germinations, volcano eruption, experiments colour mixing and much more to focus on their scientific learning from their early age.
Through this learning they got opportunities to increase and strengthen their understanding that plants need water, soil, sunlight, and care to grow. The experience also encouraged the children to take responsibility for caring for their plants and observing Also, floating, and sinking experiment, as they identified the differences which can float or sink using everyday materials, including wood, leaves, plastic, metal, tan bark, rubber and paper etc.
About Volcano, the children watched with excitement as the ingredients mixed and the volcano began to bubble, fizz and erupt.

Appreciation by team at Cheltenham!!!
The staff had surprised me last week, with lots of cards, gifts and snacks and it made my day so specials and great to see and acknowledged their appreciation within the short period of time that I have been joined with the great team😊

Marngrook Incursion at Cheltenham!!!

We had the pleasure of welcoming Essendon AFL club’s Bomber Kids incursion at our Centre! 🏉✨
This exciting AFL-themed experience provided a fun, practical and engaging way to support the children’s physical, social and emotional development.
It was wonderful to see the children so engaged, active and enjoying every moment! ❤️🖤

the children enjoyed participating in a Marngrook incursion, where they learned about one of Australia's traditional Aboriginal games through active play. They enthusiastically joined in the games, developing their gross motor skills, coordination, teamwork and confidence. Brandon from Marngrook explained about all the sign that they used in the jumpers.

NAIDOC WEEK celebration at Cheltenham!!!!
The entire centre were celebrated this NAIDOC week by sharing and reading the Dreamtime stories, encouraging discussions about Aboriginal culture, nature, and the important lessons these stories teach. The children explored their creativity through art and craft by collecting sticks from the outdoor environment and painting them using the symbolic colours of the Aboriginal flag red, black, and yellow. They also created mud paintings using Aboriginal-inspired symbols, exploring how symbols can be used to communicate stories and ideas.
These experiences encouraged the children to develop respect, curiosity, creativity, and a deeper understanding of Australia's First Nations cultures while fostering a sense of belonging and connection to Country.

PJ Day at Cheltenham!!!
It was wonderful to see all the children dressed up in their pyjamas and excited to participate in the fun cozy day’s experiences.
This PJ Day, creating a cozy, stress-free environment that reduces anxiety.
The children also, they enjoyed coming to kindergarten with their favourite pyjamas and sharing their favourite soft toys with friends. This encouraged confidence, communication, and a sense of belonging as they talked about their special toys and listened to others.
