n with Marvin Westmore in Los Angeles, whose family has been heading up makeup departments in all the major studios of Hollywood since the Golden era of Motion Pictures. I'm heavily booked (up to 18 months in advance) in the Bridal, Special Occasion and Events industry, and am the recommended makeup artist for Stones of the Yarra Valley (one of Melbourne's premier luxury reception venues). I am also on the calling list for Crown Casino and associated Hotels, receiving bookings for overseas and interstate guests. I have worked with top photographers such as Peter Coulson (who has won Fashion Photographer of the Year at least four times). I also receive referrals from some of Melbourne's most respected Dermatologists and Plastic Surgeons - working with their patients to cover all manner of skin conditions (including burns, bruising, scarring, severe redness etc). I am also an international Fine Artist - exhibiting my art work regularly around the world with my work now sitting in collections in Europe, the Middle East and Asia. At my school you will be taught proven professional methods, techniques and wisdom. My aim is to teach you from the ground up, to give you the best chance of success with all the knowledge, technical skill, products, tools and support to help you on your way. The products used in class are sourced from all over the globe and are used everyday by the top professionals in the industry. You are not restricted to learning with just one brand of makeup, you will be learning with the same products that are used backstage and on sets the world over. Discover from day one what the best products are, rather than trying to navigate through the marketing hype of many cosmetics companies. This alone will save you hundreds of dollars when it comes to building up your kit, as you will have first hand experience of what products are great and how best to utilize them to achieve the look you’re after. Class size is kept to a minimum to ensure maximum learning opportunity and grasping of concepts and techniques. All equipment, brushes and products are supplied in class, the only requirement you need to bring is yourself
No need to bring models, you will however work on a different face every lesson for maximum learning opportunity. I have a high student success rate - many are working regularly in the industry, including assisting celebrity makeup artists; being flown interstate for jobs and being in demand for bridal and special occasion hair and makeup. You do not need any sort of artistic background as a pre-requisite to becoming a successful makeup artist, just a willingness to learn and to practice
