Happy Father's Day to all fathers, grandfathers, father figures, and mentors in our community.

During the week we were delighted to celebrate our Fathers' Day Liturgy together as community followed by morning tea.

Today, we give thanks for the men who reflect God's love through their care, guidance, sacrifice, and support.

May God bless all fathers and father figures, strengthen them in their calling, and fill them with wisdom, peace, and joy.

A beautiful start to Mercy Week!

Today, our school community gathered for our annual Mercy Mass, a significant event in our calendar that officially kicks off a week of reflection, action, and outreach. Inspired by the enduring works of our founder, Catherine McAuley, our students are ready to dive into a week of activities centered around compassion and service.

This year’s Mass was doubly blessed as we also celebrated the baptism of two of our Year 7 students and held the commissioning of our 2027 leaders.

Congratulations to our newly invested leaders and to those who took a beautiful step in their faith journey today. We look forward to a vibrant week ahead!

⚡ Powering Future Careers!

Mercy students recently visited ACCIONA’s North Sydney offices for a STEM & Engineering Careers in Renewable Energy experience alongside students from schools across all education sectors.
Students met industry engineers, explored careers in renewable energy and tackled a real-world challenge: how could Australia address a national energy deficit in 2040? Working in teams, they developed and presented their own energy solutions.

A fantastic opportunity to connect learning with the careers helping shape Australia’s future. 🌱⚡

🇫🇷🇮🇹 Year 8 French & Italian Cultural Day 🇮🇹🇫🇷

Our Year 8 French and Italian students enjoyed an action-packed day celebrating the rich languages and cultures of France and Italy.

🧠 Round 1: French & Italian Trivia Quiz
Students teamed up across both language classes to tackle a range of challenging cultural and linguistic questions. It was fantastic to see such lively discussion, teamwork and plenty of friendly competition! A huge merci and grazie to our Trivia Quiz compères, Signora Perrignon and Kelly, for keeping the competition running.

💬 Round 2: Speed Dating Speaking & Interview Activity
Students put their French and Italian language skills into practice as they communicated with one another in this fun and dynamic speaking activity. It was wonderful to hear so much French and Italian being spoken!

🎨 Round 3: Creative Cultural Crafts
A definite highlight of the day was our Carnevale Mask Making and Eiffel Tower Model Building activity. Our Mercy students showcased their incredible creativity using coloured pencils, metallic markers, sequins, gems, glitter and plenty of scissors and glue to create their unique masterpieces!

🍕 A Taste of France & Italy
Students then enjoyed an authentic French and Italian lunch featuring pizza, quiche Lorraine, San Pellegrino Aranciata Rossa and Orangina. Delizioso! Très bien!

🎬 And finally… Movie Time!
To conclude our linguistic and cultural extravaganza, students relaxed with the much-loved French and Italian films The War of the Buttons and Luca.

A Wonderful Mercy Links Day!

Thank you to the students and staff from Prouille Primary School, Holy Family Catholic Primary School Lindfield and Our Lady of Dolours Primary School Chatswood for joining us at Mercy Catholic College for our recent Mercy Links Day.

It was a joy to welcome your Year 3 students to our campus and share a day of learning, creativity and fun. From hands-on experiences in Science, Food Technology, and Drama, to enjoying morning tea and lunch together, the girls embraced every opportunity with enthusiasm, curiosity, and confidence.

We hope the day provided a memorable glimpse into life at Mercy and inspired new friendships and learning experiences along the way.

As the girls explored our classrooms and met members of our Mercy community, they experienced firsthand the opportunities, care, and sense of belonging that make Mercy Catholic College such a special place to learn and grow.

🎓 Term 3 Careers & Pathways Talks at Mercy Catholic College

Mercy's Term 3 Careers & Pathways Talks have begun, connecting students directly with professionals and providing opportunities to explore a diverse range of industries and post-school pathways.

Last week we welcomed SEDA Group, who spoke with students about pathways across sport, business and leadership. It was also wonderful to welcome back former Mercy student Hannah Woo, who graduated last year and is now enrolled in a SEDA program. Hannah was able to give current students an authentic, first-hand perspective on the course and her transition from school.

Our full Term 3 Careers & Pathways Talks schedule is attached. We encourage parents and carers to look through the program with their child and encourage them to attend the sessions that connect with their interests, subjects or areas of curiosity.

The talks are open to all students in Years 7–12, providing regular opportunities to hear directly from industry and explore what might be possible beyond school.

A huge congratulations to our talented Mercy Catholic College choirs and dedicated Music staff on their outstanding achievements at this year's Ryde Eisteddfod. For the second consecutive year, our Senior Vocal Ensemble, directed by Miss Lu, was awarded First Place in the Secondary Choir Championships, while our Chamber Choir, also under Miss Lu's direction, achieved an impressive Second Place in the Secondary Choir Section. Our Pop Choir, directed by Mr Robertson, also delivered a fantastic performance and represented the College with pride.

Chamber Choir Captain Edie D reflected on the experience, sharing that performing Kaleidoscope Heart and Fire and Ice showcased months of dedication, teamwork and musical growth. She described the choir's second-place result as a testament to the commitment and passion of every student and spoke of the joy of performing alongside other talented ensembles.

Senior Vocal Ensemble Captain Clara C represented Mercy across Pop Choir, Chamber Choir and Senior Vocal Ensemble. She shared how special and emotional the occasion was, particularly for the Year 12 students, describing the choir as a family and a place where lifelong memories and friendships have been formed. Clara expressed immense pride in the performances and achievements of all involved.

We are incredibly proud of our students and grateful to our talented choir directors for their passion, leadership and commitment to excellence. Congratulations to everyone involved on these remarkable results and for representing Mercy with such pride and professionalism!

We are incredibly proud to celebrate Sophia C from Year 9's outstanding achievement as a member of the NSW U15 All Schools Netball Team, who were crowned Gold Medallists last week after a thrilling 30-28 victory over Queensland in the Grand Final.

The match was closely contested from start to finish, showcasing the skill, determination, and teamwork of both teams. To come away with the win on such a big stage is a remarkable accomplishment.

Representing NSW is a tremendous honour, and Sophia has embraced every opportunity throughout the championship with enthusiasm, dedication, and pride. Her commitment and sportsmanship have been a wonderful reflection of our school community.

PARENT/CARER OPPORTUNITY | To strengthen parent and carer engagement, partnership and leadership across Catholic Schools Broken Bay (CSBB), we warmly invite all parents and carers across our system of schools to join us for the ‘Leading Together: Connected Communities, Strengthening Partnerships’ sessions.

Delivered in partnership with CSBB and the Council of Catholic School Parents (CCSP), and co‑facilitated by Michal Brenchley and Cath Garrett Jones, these sessions are designed to build shared understanding, strengthen partnerships, and support meaningful collaboration between families and school communities.

Sessions will be held across the North Shore, Central Coast and Northern Beaches.
