There’s a difficult tension we see in parents all the time.

You want to give your child space.

You don’t want to nag them, push too hard or add any pressure as they approach the final term.

But then the year moves on. Results come back. And you start wondering whether you should have stepped in earlier.

We understand why parents hesitate.

These conversations are hard. No teenager enjoys being confronted, especially when they're already stressed about their marks. But avoiding the conversation doesn’t help either.

Sometimes the most valuable thing you can do as a parent is simply be willing to look at what’s happening clearly, call it for what it is, and help your child make a better decision from there.

So excited to share the latest addition to the Baldwin and Kalibrate-Ed family!!

This is BRISKET!! 🐶🤎

As many of you know, I've been training Empathy and Compassion dogs for mental health support for over a decade. And Brisket is my newest little trainee 🐶

This cutie pie is chocolate brown (technically 'liver and white') so naturally, I decided to called him Brisket 😂

And yes, the jokes have already started about 5 million ways to cook him, smoke him, sous-vide him, roast him...

Right now, Brisket is still very much in the puppy phase -- chewing everything and breaking into everything, and somehow managing to look innocent while doing both 🤔

There’s a lot of work ahead before he’s ready for any Compassion work, but that’s part of the journey and he's great-maternal-half-uncle Tobi to show him the ropes! (No kidding, we have an ACTUAL 'Uncle Tobi'!!! 😂 )

Just like a good proper Brisket, it's not going to happen overnight. iI's going to take time and a LOT patience -- but when you get it right the result is totally worth the wait!!

For now though, I’m just enjoying having this little guy home ❤️ Happy weekend, everyone!!! And stay tuned for more puppy spaaaammmm!!! ;)
