All Souls St Gabriels School offers students a wide range of subjects and pathways to tertiary study, plus vocational training and apprenticeships, via our partnership with the Dalrymple Trade Training Centre. Our Year 2 students enjoyed a special Astronomy Night, bringing their Earth and Space Sciences learning to life! A huge thank you to Mr and Mrs Dunne for sharing their incredible telescopes and knowledge of the night sky.

Students viewed the Sun safely through a solar filter, spotted the Moon, Venus and stars, and even explored distant galaxies through a digital telescope. They also enjoyed space-themed activities, including making marshmallow constellations, before finishing the evening with delicious Sโ€™mores! ๐ŸŒŸ

It was a memorable night of fun, discovery and learning as our students explored the wonders of the sky. ๐Ÿš€๐ŸŒŒ

Earlier in the term, selected Year 10 Mathematical Methods students travelled to Magnetic Island for the QAMT Maths Camp, where they put their mathematical skills to the test in real-world situations.

Working alongside students from surrounding regions, they tackled a variety of challenging problems, applying their knowledge, collaborating with others and discovering how mathematics can be used beyond the classroom.

It was a fantastic opportunity for our students to challenge themselves, build connections and see Mathematical Methods come to life! ๐Ÿ”ขโœจ

We recently celebrated Childrenโ€™s Book Week, with this year marking the 80th Anniversary of the Childrenโ€™s Book Council of Australia (CBCA)! ๐ŸŽ‰

The theme, โ€œSymphony of Stories,โ€ celebrated how diverse stories and characters came together, much like instruments in a symphony, to inspire, entertain and connect us. ๐Ÿ“–โœจ

Throughout the week, each Junior School class was allocated a book to read and completed a range of engaging activities inspired by their story. Students also took part in scavenger hunts and voted for their favourite book in our โ€œJudge a Book by Its Coverโ€ activity. ๐Ÿ”๐Ÿ“š

Students also enjoyed bringing their favourite book characters to life during our free dress day, while raising funds for the Ponytail Project with gold coin donations. ๐Ÿ’›

It was wonderful to see our students & staff embracing their love of reading, discovering new stories and celebrating the magic of books together! ๐Ÿ“–๐Ÿ’™

Today, our brave senior girls & staff truly ROCKED THE CHOP โ€” and what an incredible effort it was! โœ‚๐Ÿ’œ There were plenty of nerves, plenty of excitement, and an overwhelming sense of pride as 11 ponytails were cut to support those impacted by cancer. ๐ŸŽ—
Together, theyโ€™ve raised over $8,000 โ€” an impressive effort for a smaller community like ours, and a true testament to their courage, commitment, and the strength and generosity of our tight-knit ASSG family.
Every ponytail chopped makes a real difference โ€” funding vital cancer research and support services.
Well done, girls. Youโ€™ve inspired us all. ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ’‡โ€โ™€๏ธ
