We built Banksia Movement because we kept seeing the same thing in clinic — people doing all the right things but missing the foundation.
This is what we wish everyone knew earlier.

Most people spend years doing crunches and planks wondering why their back still hurts. The deep stabilising system — the one that actually protects your spine — works completely differently. It’s coordinated by your nervous system, activated by breath, and built on movement patterns your body already knows from birth.
When this system isn’t working well, everything else compensates. That’s where the stiffness, the niggles, and the persistent tension come from.
This is what we address in Foundation Reset.

7 to 12 month transition. Quadruped up to Bear. Focus on maintaining thoracic and pelvic diaphragms parallel to enable central stabilisation and uprighting of spine. Big hamstring work as you take sit bones up to ceiling. Have a go!

Tripod variations. Focus first on level pelvis and thoracic length. Breath loading from thoracic diaphragm to pelvic floor with 360’ expansion of abdominal wall. Working elements of thoracic rotation, leg/hip strength and mobility.

Week 1 & 2 of Foundation Reset — and we start on the floor.

Not because it’s easy. Because it’s where your body learns best.
In the first two weeks of Foundation Reset we work through gentle floor-based movement — positions on your back, simple rolling patterns, and basic supported movements using a chair. Nothing complicated. Nothing that requires fitness or flexibility to begin with.

This is where we introduce the fundamentals — how to breathe properly into your core, how to find stillness and control in simple positions, and how to begin noticing what your body is actually doing rather than what you think it’s doing.

We also cover basic mobility — not stretching for the sake of it, but understanding how your joints move and where you might be compensating without realising.

Foundation Reset is genuinely designed for anyone starting from scratch. That includes people recovering from injury, those who haven’t moved consistently in years, or anyone who simply wants to begin gently and build from a solid base.

There is no minimum fitness level. No prior movement experience needed. Just a floor, a chair, and a willingness to start.

If that sounds like where you are right now — this is your program.

SO often we hear - "I just need to stretch more"

Your back needs both mobility and stability — knowing when to move, and when to create support.
Sometimes we can't let go of tightness or tension because it is what's holding us together!
Training central (abdominal) stability can give the body what it needs and then those tight hip flexors or hamstrings can actually loosen up.

Mobility and stability.
Create balance between them and you'll feel all the benefits.

Love getting feedback from one of our online movers (and feeling so proud to share it!) :

"It's good to find a fitness program which is safe and builds strength step by step.
Knowing you are an Aussie chiropractor and osteopath with a focus on health makes a down to earth, refreshing change from the umpteen other fitness programs I've tried.
When I started online, I was quite unfit. After a year I have more energy, strength and a wider range of movement.

The method reminds me of learning to move when I was young. At first it was unusual, but then I really got into it as it's so intuitive and natural. Thank goodness I'm able to ask questions with quick email personal responses when I'm stuck.

The variety of exercises gives me little chance to get bored.
I feel set up now for the long-term with something practical, do-able and genuine.
Thank you."

Introducing BUILDING STRENGTH SAFELY

Strength isn’t just about what you can lift - it’s about what your body can control.
Building Strength Safely is a 12-week program that builds functional strength from the inside out, always using DNS principles to make sure every movement pattern is stable and coordinated before it’s loaded.

The result is strength that actually transfers to your life.
Less pain.
Better posture.
More capacity to do the things you love — without paying for it afterwards.

Led by a chiropractor and osteopath. No gym required.
$147 — one-time payment, 4 months access.

Let's talk about FOUNDATION RESET

If getting out of bed feels like a negotiation with your body?
If you're recovering from injury, wanting to start back gently into movement?
If you haven't done any movement for a long time, and need the start point?
This is for you.

Foundation Reset is a 6-week program built around one idea: your body hasn’t forgotten how to move well. It just needs reminding.
Using DNS principles — the same approach we use in our clinic every day — we guide you back to the basics. How to breathe. How to get stability. The kind of movement that feels natural rather than forced.

No gym. No intensity. No pushing through.
Just intelligent, guided movement that your nervous system can actually absorb and keep.

$97 — one-time payment, 12 weeks access. Link in bio to get started.

Supported squat. A great way to work on Hip, knee, ankle, shoulder mobility. Emphasis on either the hang (active or passive) or squat ( using less support with arms. Also a good time to work on thoracic extension/ mobility.
